Knight group honors
1999 producers The Knight
Group revealed the winners of its 1999
Knights of the Round Table Realtors
promotion at a festive reception, dinner and
winner announcement program recently at Eagle's
Landing Country Club.
The
Grand Prize winner, the Realtor selling the most
Knight homes during 1999, was Twanda Garvin of
Surpass Realty, who received a trip for two to
anywhere. Garvin, who also won the Grand Prize in
the 1998 program, chose to go to St. Martin.
Other
announced prize winners were as follows:
Roger Searcy of
Re/Max Advantage won a trip for two, including
golf, to the King & Prince Hotel on St.
Simons Island as the broker from the office
selling the most Knight homes during the year.
There was a
three-way tie in the competition to determine the
Realtor registering the most prospects during the
year at Knight communities, so all three received
a weekend for two at the King & Prince on St.
Simons Island. This trio of winners included two
previous Grand Prize winners, Erika Sowell and
Calvin Gleaton, both of Re/Max Advantage, plus
Emy Quinones of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty.
The
program also included four additional drawings
for trips to Cancun, Disney World and Las Vegas,
and a Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas. Those
eligible for these drawings include all invited
Realtors who are present at the dinner. Winners
included Varnell Respress of Century 21 South
Pointe Realty, Cancun trip; Beth Taylor Norman of
Re/Max Advantage, Disney World trip; Teri Held of
Prudential Georgia Realty, Las Vegas trip; and
Develyn Bennett of Re/Max of Atlanta, cruise to
the Bahamas.
Jay
Knight, president of The Knight Group, thanked
all of the agents participating in the program
for their business in 1999. We hope you
will continue to keep us in mind each time you
show your clients homes anywhere south of
I-20, he added.
Also
recognizing and expressing appreciation to the
representatives of The Knight Group in
attendance, he noted, The Knight Group has
been in business for 22 years. We have gone
through many changes, as has this industry that
we dedicate our professional lives to. Some
things have not changed, however. Our dedication
to our craft, and our dedication to our buyers,
has remained and grown throughout the years. Our
dedication to our word has never been stronger.
We keep our promises; we will fulfill our
commitments.
The
1999 Realtor promotion was the fifth annual by
The Knight Group, one of the south metro area's
most active home builders. Knight communities
participating in the program last year included
Glynn Addy, Pleasant Grove and Summerlake in
Henry County; Biscayne Pointe and Harbour Town at
River's Edge Plantation in Clayton County; Meadow
Glen in south Fulton County; Poplar Pointe in
Spalding County, and Riverbend Overlook in DeKalb
County.
Chris
Knight, vice president of The Knight Group, told
the crowd that in the midst of an increasingly
competitive market, 1999 marked yet another
record-setting year, yet another award-winning
year for The Knight Group. Rhe firm sold more
than 250 homes in 1999, brought home another
professionalism award, and in a single community,
Biscayne Pointe, sold 118 homes.
He
said that 2000 has gotten off to a furious start
with more than 90 sales to date.
As
we look into the next year, the next decade and
beyond, we are constantly evaluating our
policies, systems and priorities to ensure that
this family business continues to operate and
thrive as a world-class home builder, he
told the agents at the event.
We
believe that our locations are some of the best
on earth, that our product is among the finest in
the industry, and that our resolution to be a
little better today than we were yesterday is
sure to set us apart in the market that you [the
agents] represent that of the increasingly
sophisticated homebuyer.
The
Knight Group has a history going back to 1973,
when brothers Perry and Scott Knight started
framing houses for builders in the Southern
Crescent.
They
began their home building business in the late
1970s. Perry's son Jay joined the firm in 1982,
and Scott's son Chris joined the company in 1998.
