'Hustle for Hospice' kicks off early Saturday

Southwest Christian Hospice will host its seventh annual Hustle for Hospice 5K run/walk with Captain Herb Emory of WSB radio/TV kicking off the activities.

The race will begin near the hospice at Lester and Red Oak roads at 8:30 a.m. for runners and 8:35 a.m. for walkers.

Registrants should plan to arrive early to pick up their packets before the race begins. Registration fee is $20.

There will be T-shirts and prizes for all participants and several drawings will be held throughout the day's events.

Southwest Christian Hospice is a nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to serving the terminally ill and their families. Referrals for the inpatient facility come from throughout the state of Georgia. The homecare program now serves South Fulton, Fayette, Henry, Coweta and Clayton counties.

Proceeds from the race go directly toward patient care. All gifts to the hospice are tax-deductible.
