Balesky
signs with talented Reinhardt squad Beau Balesky, senior striker at McIntosh High School, recently signed a scholarship to Reinhardt College to play soccer beginning in the fall. Balesky, son of J.B. Balesky and Lyn Stanley, is expected to complete a tandem of lethal goal scorers for Renhardt. He joins two other Peachtree City natives at Reinhardt, returner Jordan Vires (Arlington Christian) and fellow Chief senior Fabian Lamy. Balesky has played Classic level club soccer and also has been in the state pool for Olympic development. He was a 1999 Atlanta Journal Constitution All-Southside soccer team awardee as well as the 1999 McIntosh Offensive Player of the Year. Recently, he broke the 16-year-old McIntosh High School record for most goals scored in a career. Reinhardt College Coach Jonathan Lenarz said, Beau is an enthuisiastic young man and a true talent. Physically, he has the best mix of speed and size of any high school player in greater Atlanta. Not only that, he has an incredible touch and an understanding of what it takes to score goals. I am very excited to combine Beau with our returning striker, Unai Urresti, who accounted for 21 goals this past season. Opponents will have to take our offense very seriously. Reinhardt finished the 1999/2000 regular season with an 8-11 record, winning the South Region of the National Christian College Association of America, finishing eighth at the National Christian College Association of America National Tournament. |
