about to get busy By MICHAEL BOYLAN Fayette Community Theatre Inc. is prepapring for a busy spring and summer season. With classes, workshops, productions and summer camps, the people of Fayette County are sure to be entertained and educated by Fayette County's oldest and largest theater company. FCT is a non-profit organization that is run by a 15-member board of directors. The program offers classic children's theater, Fairytale Theater, musicals, holiday productions, one- and two-act comedies and dramas, workshops and private acting classes. Auditions for productions are open to all county residents. The next two classes that FCT will conduct will be this weekend. Friday, April 21, it will offer Introduction to Theater Magic for children 8-12. The class gives an introduction to acting, improvisation, character development, pantomime and auditioning. The class will run from 5-7 p.m. and will cost $25. Saturday, April 22, the group will offer Creative Movement and Theater Play for children 5-7. The class gives children some instruction in movement, music and imagination and will run from 4:30-6 p.m. at a cost of $20. The next big production for FCT will be the musical Guys and Dolls, which is scheduled to run July 13-16 and July 20-22. The musical features a large cast and people 13 and up are encouraged to audition for the more than 40 roles that will be cast. Auditons will be May 20 and 21 in the band room of the Old Fayette County High School. The auditions May 20 will be for dance and vocals and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The auditions May 21 will consist of call backs and cold readings.
