Local pastor, columnist to receive graduate degree

The Rev. W. David Epps, rector of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Peachtree City and a regular columnist for The Citizen newspapers for more than three years, will receive the Master of Arts in Biblical Literature from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary during commencement exercises in April.

Epps will graduate with a 3.7 GPA from the seminary which holds accreditation with the Association of Theological Schools. The program of study was designed for pastors in the field and is a research-based degree. Although the seminary is located in Springfield, Mo., Epps took most of his courses at the AGTS extension at Southeastern College in Lakeland, Fla. He also attended classes in Phoenixville, Pa., as well as in Springfield.

Father Epps is the founding pastor of Christ the King Church which, in less than four years, has grown from 19 people to more than 150 who claim the church as their home. The congregation currently meets in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, but recently purchased 11.5 acres of land on Ga. Hwy. 34 in Coweta County.
