Church of Saint Gabriel sets Holy Week schedule,
activities Holy Week activities will begin on Palm Sunday, April 16, at the Catholic Church of St. Gabriel in Fayetteville. The church will bless and distribute palms as the congregation gathers outside prior to each service. The Mass schedule will be a regular weekend schedule with liturgies celebrated in a Vigil Mass Saturday at 5:30 p.m., Sunday morning at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and a Life Teen Mass Sunday evening at 5 p.m. The tridium will begin on Holy Thursday with the Mass of the Lord's Supper celebrated at 7 p.m. The washing of the feet will also take place at this liturgy. Good Friday will begin at noon on Friday, April 21, with a service of the Seven Last Words continuing until 3 p.m. The Chaplet of divine mercy will begin at 3 p.m. followed by the Stations of the Cross at 3:15. Both of these services will take place outdoors, weather permitting. Good Friday will conclude with the Passion of Our Lord beginning at 7 p.m. Easter will officially begin on Saturday with the Vigil Mass at 8:30 p.m. This most solemn Mass will begin outdoors as the new fire is lighted and brought into the church. Easter Sunday Solemn Eucharist services will be celebrated at 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and a special 12:30 p.m. Mass. There will be no evening Mass on Easter Sunday.
