Real Estate Scene...

Karen Bennett has joined the Fayetteville office of Griffin Financial Services and will serve as a loan officer.

Bennett was previously in real estate, working for two years with Century 21 Scarbrough Properties and for one and one-half years with Joyce Faulker & Associates. During this time, she represented several home builders and was on the marketing staff at Clairmont, a new residential community in Fayetteville. She qualified for the Million Dollar Club in 1999.

Pathway Communities, developer of SummerGrove, has announced the addition of Patrick Malloy Communities to its select builder group.

PMC will be building in Wicker Place, SummerGrove's second turn-of-the-century neighborhood.

PMC President Patrick Malloy said the decision to build in SummerGrove was made without hesitation.

“Carriage Park, SummerGrove's first turn-of-the-century neighborhood, was one of the best selling vintage neighborhoods in the Atlanta area,” says Malloy. “And with our home prices priced from the $140's, we anticipate a great sales velocity at Wicker Place.”

SummerGrove is at the intersection of Lower Fayetteville Road and Shenandoah Boulevard in Newnan.

Shanna Dorsey has joined the staff of the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia in the newly created position of membership services manager.

Robin Keesal, executive officer of the association, said Dorsey is responsible for all membership interaction, including sending out flyers, updating programs, working on dues renewal, helping recruit and orient new members and creating prospective member lists.

In addition, she handles much of the accounting and membership reports.

A native of Ann Arbor, Mich., Dorsey has lived in Georgia for most of her life, but has also lived in Nagoya, Japan, Florence, Italy, and Missoula, Mont. She is currently a resident of Fayetteville. Following high school, she attended the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and she is now taking courses in graphic design.

Her previous job experience includes teaching English to students in Japan for one year and working as assistant manager at Lawrence Printing for three years. She currently owns a photography business, Luminage Photography.

The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia, which serves builders in Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Heard and Meriwether Counties, currently has around 410 members. for information about the association phone 770-716-7109.

Angie Disharoon has fulfilled the requirements for Georgia Realtors Institute course one.

GRI is a results oriented and education focused course intended to equip the student with the updated knowledge and skills for performing succesfully in the real estate industry.

Disharoon is an agent at Tri-City Realty.

Roy Mathis, real estate professional with the Home Source Realtors, has been awarded the Graduate, Realtor Institute designation by the Georgia Association of Realtors after completing 90 hours of classroom instruction on such topics as contract law, professional standards, sales a marketing, finance and risk reduction.

Lynda Dunn, managing broker of Prudential Georgia Realty's Peachtree City office, announced that Mary Scheibler has been named the top selling and listing individual agent in her office.

Scheibler was recognized as a Top 50 associate among the company's more than 750 associates.

Dave Edmonson and Marianne Odom, along with Jo An Steele ad Brenda Allen of Century 21 Southern Crescent were awarded the CENTURION Team Award from Century 21 for their outstanding production in 1999.

The award is given to any teams generating a minimum of $150,000 in gross closed commissions or participating in the closing of 60 or more units during the calendar year. Edmonson and Odom have a combined 37 years in the business and have been partners in the Century 21 System for eight years.

Steele and Allen have more than 21 years experience in the business and are also sisters.

Teresa Byrd , Linda Kornegay and Cindy Davidson of CENTURY 21 Southern Crescent were named CENTURION Producers. Producer status is given to any associate generating a minimum of $150,000 in gross closed commissions or participating in the closing of 60 or more units during the calendar year.
