More than 60 local small businesses have signed up to participate in the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce's fourth annual Small Business Showcase.

The Holiday Inn Express, which will host the event, is borrowing tables from its sister hotels in Peachtree City, the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, to accommodate the high demand for display space. Free display space “sold out” the day after the chamber newsletter was distributed to the membership.

Elissa Hall, chamber president, said, “We are extremely pleased with the quick response for space by our small business members.

“We look forward to an equally large turnout by the business community to meet with these local small business owners and become aware of the diversified business opportunities available locally,” she added.

The Showcase will be Tuesday, April 18, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., in the new Magnolia Gardens at the Holiday Inn Express in Fayetteville. The hotel is on Ga. Highway 54, across the street from the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce.

The event is free and open to the public, as well as all chamber members. To ensure adequate food, coordinators of the event have asked that all those who would like to attend phone the Chamber of Commerce at 770-461-9983 for reservations.

All of the displays, food and entertainment will be provided by chamber member businesses. Piano Crafters will entertain in one area, and Ensemble pour deux will play in another section of the display area, which will spill out into the parking area.

A variety of vendors will showcase. Companies as diverse as the two Fayette County Gold's Gyms, Ici Paris Spa, Happy Dog Studios and Offshoot Productions will be on hand with information, prizes and food. Long-time chamber members such as AIS Computers, TCIS Insurance, Print Graphic Services and Peachtree National Bank, as well as newer members including Befittingly British Baskets, Donald Turner, CPA, and Excellence Commercial Cleaning Services will display.

Many companies will donate prizes that will be given away at intervals during the two-hour showcase. Arnie's Fine Wine, Liquor and Beer, Affiliated Insurance, Braelinn Travel, Peachtree Planning, Design Essentials and Powertel some of those that have signed up to give away gifts.

“We have been overwhelmed with the response for prizes and contributions,” said Showcase Committee member and general manager of Holiday Inn Express, Glenn Winslette. “If the donations continue at this rate we may be giving away something every five minutes!”

Those stopping by also will be treated to a sampling of foods from Coffee and

Things Inc., China CafÈ, Harris Teeter, One Magnolia Lane, Affairs of the Heart Catering, City CafÈ, Manhattan Bagels and other well-known local restaurants. Many of the participating businesses also are partnering with local caterers and restaurants to provide food at their display tables.

Some local medical and health related industries plan to give demonstrations and answer questions also. Advanced Chiropractic, The American Heart Association, Beautiful Additions, Benchmark Integrative Medicine, Tyrone Eye Care, Dental One Associates and Reliv International will have staff at the event to explain their services and, in some cases, do on-site exams or scans.

Other chamber member businesses that have signed up to share information regarding their products or as sponsors include Kwik Kopy Printing, Regions Bank, Sherwood Shuttle, Allan Vigil's Southlake Ford, Chamber Plan Services, Classic World Travel, LaToba Designs, Mail Boxes, Etc., Plumyummi Day Spa, Mortgage Matters, Prudential Insurance, Sara's Design Concepts, ServPro Professional Cleaning Services, Phoenix Star Transportation, Pull Toys, Valentine Services, EBS Financial, Enuff Party Stuff & More, Hilltop Pools, Haas and Associates PrePaid Legal, JMac Marketing, Offshoot Productions, Express Personnel Services and SunTrust Bank.
