Lenox
is Springer-like ringmaster I couldn't help but laugh when I read Mayor Bob Lenox's recent letter to The Citizen, setting forth ground rules in the publishing of his coming installments of letters. The Clintonesque attitude that Mayor Lenox has taken is yet another round of what seems to be the local version of the Jerry Springer Show where Mayor Lenox attempts to portray the image of the only bit of sanity in a circus of characters that must be reigned in. Thankfully, we have Ringmaster Lenox to give us the facts, just as Springer gives us his final thought. Knowing the messenger taints the message. I believe it's safe to say that the actions of many of our local politicians mirror what we see in society: rather than public servants, what we are seeing is public office being used to further one's own agenda, if not perhaps their own ego. Citizens organize and present their united opinion on issues, only to be ignored in the final result. I applaud Dan Tennant's stand in getting the service back into public service. Apparently you hit a nerve with the mayor, Mr. Tennant, in standing up for what's right. This makes you, in his own words, self righteous, pompously indignant and woefully inept... Well if that's what you are, Mr. Tennant, we need to see more of it! While I don't reside in Peachtree City, I hope my neighbors there will watch closely, and remember, the antics of their mayor, and send a strong signal via the voting booth next year. Let's expect more from those who claim to represent our best interests, from the president to mayor and his posse of town council members. Dave Buck
