Bank of Georgia is now open

The Bank of Georgia is now open at 2008 west Ga. Highway 54. The company recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was attended by several local dignitaries including Peachtree City mayor Bob Lenox, Fayette County commissioners Herby Frady and Harold Bost and Fayetteville city councilmen Glen Brewer and Al Hovey-King.

“The response from the public has been overwhelming,” said Pat Shepherd, president and CEO of the new bank.

The Bank of Georgia is a locally owned and managed community bank.

“We take the time to know our customers. All loan decisions are made right here by real bankers. We don't fill out forms to send to a computer in another state,” said Shepherd.

The new bank opened with 13 employees and is anxious to serve new customers throughout the county.
