'Right
to Life' plans oratory contest Protecting Life in the New Millennium is the theme of this year's Georgia Right To Life Oratory Contest. Scheduled for 9 a.m., Saturday, April 15, at AmeriHost Inn in Stockbridge, the event is open to high school juniors and seniors. Contestants research, write, and present a 5-7 minute original pro-life speech on abortion, infanticide, or euthanasia. Students can explore such themes of importance within the pro-life movement as fetal development, abortion methods, post-abortion syndrome, RU 486, informed consent and parental consent legislation, the "quality of life" ethic, involuntary euthanasia, assisted suicide, or many other areas. The first place winner will receive $250 plus expenses toward participating in the National Right To Life Oratory Contest to be held in Arlington, Virginia, on July 1. The runner-up will receive $100, and all participants will receive a certificate and recognition in the organization's newsletter, LifeIssues.
