Champions
named in successful double tournament By MICHAEL
BOYLAN The Peachtree City Tennis Center recently held the 2000 Mid-Winter Doubles Classic, which featured over 116 participants. There were six different divisions of play open, which made the competition on the courts fierce. Doug Wilde and Mark Gray were named champions of the Men's Open division, while Ron Small and Terry Ford were runners-up. Charlie Garris and Lewis Matthews were champions of the Men's A division, while Mike Bland and Hal Jones were finalists. Bob Bageron and Dan Wright won the Men's B championship, while Chris Pham and Todd Piester placed second. In the Women's Open/A, Jennifer Jagmin and Justine Still were champions over Hero Mason and Ann Matwick. Alice MacDonald and Anne Nelson won the Women's B divison, while Ahn Do and Betsy Sprickman were finalists. Sue Buehler and Kathryn Roberds won the Women's C divison, while Anne Lange and Katie Fisher took second place. |
