Lenox, City Attorneys bullying common people

It appears Peachtree City's distinguished Mayor Lenox has lost it. Lost his calling to serve his constituents, lost his sight of whose city this is, and worst of all, lost his ability to relate to most Peachtree City citizens.

The next logical step in Bob Lenox's disillusioned self-absorption is to dismiss the city council and declare himself king of Peachtree City. After all, he knows more about our city than anyone else and these unnecessary council meetings interfere with his personal agenda.

Reality is that he has lost touch with the common man here in Peachtree City. He is a mega-buck businessman who sees everything from a businessman's viewpoint, rather than that of a Peachtree City resident, trying to maintain the lifestyle we all moved here for.

His friendships, obviously, are interfering with his perspective and sense of objectivity. His recent votes and actions are all the evidence we need. I guess all we can do is try to limit the damage he can do until we can unceremoniously throw him out of office.

And just as Lenox enjoys bullying citizens in council meetings, his buddies at Webb, Stuckey, and Lindsey have taken to bullying citizens litigiously. It is not unexpected of plaintiff lawyers, traditional bottom feeders, to resort to this behavior. They want to extinguish those who expose them for what they are by causing The Citizen and [letter-writer Steve] Brown to incur extensive legal fees. Fortunately, theirs is a case without merit and will quickly be thrown out.

What can irate citizens do? Many things. We can write more letters to the editor, as some have done already, to express disgust over this fiasco.

One other opportunity will avail itself to us on numerous occasions. Come join me in a hearty round of “boos” when Webb, Stuckey, and Lindsey are introduced as the primary sponsor of the Peachtree City Concert series. And continue to do so at the remaining nine concerts.

That ought to show them what we think. And let's feel free to boo the mayor whenever we see him, too.

Bill Webster
