Compliments to Tennant, but not Mayor Lenox

I attended the March 2 Peachtree City Council meeting. I was appalled at Mayor Bob Lenox's arrogance, self-serving motives, unfairness to citizen Steve Brown, and the mayor's very lengthy presentation on annexation.

Councilman Dan Tennant did a great job of standing up for the right for Steve Brown to have a chance to defend himself after being verbally abused for 20 minutes by City Attorney Rick Lindsey of Webb, Stuckey and Lindsey law firm.

Mayor Lenox denied Steve Brown the opportunity to defend himself, autocratically claiming that it was “his meeting.”

Dan Tennant also felt it was in the name of fairness and good financial stewardship to the citizens of Peachtree City to at least interview another judge of outstanding credentials, for half the salary of the current judge. No one else, including the mayor, felt it was necessary.

Dan Tennant is doing exactly what he was voted to do: Stand up for justice and the everyday citizen.
