Soccer

The Atlanta Silverbacks, Atlanta's professional soccer team, will travel to The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville to play the Lightning Soccer Club All Stars. The game will be held on March 11 and the kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. A Meet the Players clinic will be held from 6:15 p.m.-7 p.m. for all youth players. Tickets are $6 and include the youth clinic and a free $8 value ticket to the Silverbacks home opener against the Charleston Battery on Apr. 15. Call 770-460-8785 for tickets.

Meet the Pro Workshops will be offered at Gold's Gym PTC West. The workshops will run from1:30 ^ 2:30 p.m.; covering topics such as launching the ball, chipping, putting, etc.

The River's Edge Ladies Golf League is set to begin again. Play begins on Mar. 14 and is open to all women players in beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Call Sharon Shager at 770-477-8772.

Registration is now open for The Ten Star All Star Basketball Camp. Boys and girls ages 10-18 are eligible. For an evaluation form call (704) 372-8610 ANYTIME.

Registration is open for the 22nd Annual Bryan Adrian Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 5-19 and will be held at Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga. Call 704-372-3236.

12th annual “Tune Up for the Masters”, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce golf tournament, will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at Whitewater Country Club. Call the Chamber office at 770-461-9983 for more information on player spots and/or hole sponsorship.

The Fayette County Special Olympic Committee will begin training athletes in March for its soccer program. All practices will be held on Saturday afternoons at the McCurry Park Soccer Fields. The program is geared for those individuals ages 7 to 21 diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. Participants will betaught the basic skills of soccer, participate in games with others, and receive an official uniform.

The only registration fee charged will be that the athlete has completed all necessary paperwork before participation. Anyone interested in enrolling his or her child in this program should contact Anita Godbee at 770-461-9714.

The Doyle Baseball School will return to Peachtree City on March 11 and 12 at the Baseball Complex on Hwy. 74 in Peachtree City. The class will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Tuition is $10 for PTC little league players under the age of nine, $20 for league players ages 10 and up and $70 for non-league players. Registration forms can be picked up at PTC Little League Regisatration or by calling Terry White at 678-817-1623. Tuition is due by Mar. 3.

The first annual Peachtree Eagle Classic golf tournament, sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran School, will be held Thursday, April 13 at Orchard Hills Golf Club in Newnan. Lunh and registration will begin at 11 a.m and tee time will be 12 p.m. The format will be a Ft. Lauderdale tournament with four person teams. The entry fee is $95 per player.
