Briefs Inman plans Ash Wednesday service March 8 The season of Lent at Inman United Methodist Church will begin with traditional Ash Wednesday worship on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m. The service offers the opportunity for persons to participate in the ancient rite of putting on ashes as a sign of repentance. It also marks the beginning if a season of prayer and fasting. National Heights plans Ash Wednesday service Members of National Heights Baptist Church invite the community to share in their Ash Wednesday service, set for Wednesday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. The service, which celebrates the beginning of the season of Lent, will be centered on communion. Fayette Presbyterian plans rummage sale March 4 Members of Fayette Presbyterian Church will have a rummage sale Saturday, March 4 from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the church. Items from many families will be contributed and selections are expected to be large. Proceeds go to the mission work trip for the Sr. high school youth this summer. March for Jesus 2000 set for June 10 Global officials have announced that the date of the next March for Jesus will be June 10.
