House presents fashion show and luncheon fund raiser The Sound of Music will be the theme of this year's annual fund-raising fashion show and luncheon sponsored by Hope House, a ministry of the Southwest Christian Hospice. The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 12 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Atlanta Airport Hilton. Karyn Greer, news anchor for WXIA-TV, will host the event. Performing will be the Tara Choral Guild and the Young Singers of Callonwold. Fashions and models will be provided by t.buggs of Peachtree City. J.C. Penney will provide the men's and children's fashions. Seating will be prearranged and tickets are $35 per person. Complete tables for groups of 10 will be available for $325. Attendance is limited to 450 persons. Proceeds will go toward the $1.2 million cost of constructing a new eight-bed respite hospice for terminally ill and severely disabled children, the first of its kind in the state of Georgia. Southwest Christian Hospice began operating in Union City in 1983. Recently, it broadened its scope of services to provide respite care for children while their parents and caregivers take a break from their care. The new hospice, Hope House, will be built on land adjacent to the current hospice and will serve families with children suffering from progressive, life-threatening illnesses and severe disabilities. Like Southwest Christian Hospice, Hope House will provide free care to patients. Donations to Hope House are tax deductible. For more information, call Southwest Christian Hospice at 770-969-8354.
