Williams to lead revival at PTC First Baptist Church First Baptist Church of Peachtree City will have revival services beginning Sunday, Feb. 27 and continuing through Wednesday, March 1. Services start at 7 p.m. The revival will be led by Dr. Gene Williams, with musical ministry led by David Akin and the D.N.E. Band. Dr. Williams is from Corsicana, Texas, and was raised in Houston. He preached his first sermon at the age of 15, then served as pastor of Swanson Hill Church in Palestine, Texas when he was 16. He later received an A.B. degree from Baylor University, and received a M.Div. degree and Th.D. degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has pastored numerous churches in Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama. Dr. Williams has been a full-time evangelist since 1957 after spending 13 years in the pastorate. He leads about 25 revivals a year in the United States, and several more overseas. In addition to preaching in revival meetings, he is chairman of the Gene Williams Evangelistic Association, the largest Baptist evangelistic association in the world. He is a member of Rockdale Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia. David Akin and the D.N.E. Band is a family band that uses its talents to lead revivals and crusades. The Akins have been members of Harp's Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville since 1986. The band is composed of father David and his sons Dave, Nick, and Eli, ...all gifted musicians committed to bringing glory to God through their music ministry, a spokesperson said. The revival will focus on various themes on different nights. Monday will be Loyalty Night, Tuesday will be Sunday School Night/Youth Night, and Wednesday will be Family Night/Pre-Teen Jamboree.
