Whether the music is classical or classically loud and abrasive, there will be plenty of it around this weekend.

Many venues are gearing up for Valentine's Day with romantic concerts, while others are just planning on rocking out.

The weekend will start early with Atlanta Ballet's production of Dracula, beginning Thursday at the Fox. The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 and at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday for the duration of the performance. Performances will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13 and at 2 p.m. only Feb. 20. Tickets are $20-$50 and can be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet or by calling 404-817-8700.

The Log Cabin in Fayetteville will host four bands Friday evening as a benefit for Kerry Ruffin and his family and as a CD release party for Crisis of Assimilation (formerly Pandora's Box). The doors will open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $4. The other three bands playing Friday are Sect, Drifting Image, and Descending Fire. Crisis of Assimilation will be selling its debut CD's for $5 at the show. A portion of the proceeds from the show will go to Ruffin and his family.

The Tallis Scholars will perform a blend of Renaissance sacred music at Spivey Hall Friday, Feb. 11. The world renowned group will perform selections from Robert White, William Byrd and Alfonso Ferrabosco the Elder. The show will begin at 8:15 p.m. and tickets are $35.

Spivey Hall will be full of sweet sounds the next night, when organist duo Raymond and Elizabeth Chenault will perform. The pair are well known at Spivey Hall, recording their most recent Christmas album there. Their performance will include selections from Naji Hakim, Richard Shephard and Phillip Moore, as well as Toccata for Two, a piece that was written specifically for them.

The show will begin at 8:15 p.m. and tickets are $25. For ticket information to Spivey Hall performances, phone 770-961-3683.

The Cobb Symphony Orchestra will perform romantic selections from movies Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Their performance of “A Night at the Movies II” will be at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $13 for children. Call 770-423-6650 for tickets.
