While the high school basketball season is winding down into it's postseason play, the church league is just heating up. New Hope Baptist leads the A league, which has three teams tied for second place. The B league is much closer together. Fayette Presbyterian is on top of the standings with a record of 4-1, while Providence is in second place at 3-1 and First Methodist is in third place with a record of 3-2.

In last week's A-League games, Prince of Peace defeated First Baptist, 55-48, New Hope Baptist won over Southern Crescent by a score of 53-34 and Braelinn Baptist defeated Christ the King, 61-55. The A league teams faced each other earlier this week on Monday night. Southern Crescent edged out Christ the King, 45-42, Braelinn Baptist defeated First Baptist, 51-42, and New Hope Baptist won over Price of Peace, 65-57.

The B League met on the court twice last week, on Tuesday and Friday night. Heritage Christian had Woolsey Baptist's number last Tuesday, winning by a score of 50-28. Providence defeated First Methodist, 48-35 and Fayette Presbyterian won over Fayette Community Baptist, 41-33. Fayette Presbyterian defeated First Methodist on Friday night by a score of 55-33, while Heritage Christian narrowly defeated Providence, 41-39. Woolsey Baptist rounded out the evening's action by beating Lisbon Baptist 64-53.

The two leagues play their games in the gym of the old Fayette County High School.
