New manager is named at Griffin Financial Services

Herman Talmedge III has been named the new manager of Griffin Financial Services' branch in Griffin.

“Herman has done an outstanding job as manager of our Jackson branch for the past two yaers, and we are pleased to bring someone with his experience and abilities to our Griffin office,” said Frank Bennett, vice president of the company.

Talmedge, who has a degree in finance, worked in the company's Henry County office for two years before opening the Jackson branch.

Before joining Griffin Financial Services, he had two years experience with another mortgage loan company and worked for five years in the brokerage business.

Loan officers working with Talmedge at the branch innclude Scott Goodman, Rick Payne, Tracy Brock and Charles Kimbell.

Goodman has worked in the mortgage loan field since 1997 and joined the company's Jackson office in 1998.

Payne was new in the mortgage field when he joined the company. He previously served as a tax consultant for 15 years with an Atlanta company.

Brock has nine years of banking experience and first worked with Griffin Financial in its Henry County office.

Kimbell came to the company last spring after 15 years in customer service and dealing with the public.

“We want to help builders in this area who are looking for lot loans and spec loans,” Talmedge said.

Griffin Financial Services has its operations and underwriting departments and a mortgage loan office in Fayetteville. It also has offices in Newnan, Barnesville, Grffin and Stockbridge.
