Landmark
Banquet Landmark Christian School will host its annual celebration banquet at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta Feb. 24. Keynote speaker is Dr. William J. Bennett. Throughout the `80s, Bennett served as a prominent figure in national politics. He served as President Ronald Reagan's chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities and as secretary of education. He also served as President George Bush's drug czar from 1989 until 1990. Many recognize Bennett as an inspired author. His best selling Book of Virtues and Children's Book of Virtues rank among the most successful of the decade. This year is Landmark's 11th year as a local provider of college preparatory Christian education. Begun in 1989 in a warehouse in Fayetteville, Landmark has evolved into a school of excellence in one decade. Proof of its high standards can be measured in its above average SAT scores, number of National Merit Scholars, students selected for the National Honor Society and $439,795 total scholarships awarded to 1999's graduating class of 57 students. Landmark's campus encompasses the old Campbell High School building in Fairburn. There are 330 students in grades K4-sixth and 775 students school-wide. In 1996, Landmark was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
