The weather did more than just freeze high school athletics to a halt — the Fayette County Church Basketball League's weekend games were postponed as well.

Both leagues were playing well going into Friday night.

New Hope Baptist still leads the A League with a 3-0 record. They defeated Christ The King (0-3) 66-39. Kerry Evert led New Hope with 33 points.

Southern Crescent improved its record to 2-1 with a 43-32 victory over First Baptist (1-2). Mike Panza led Southern Crescent with 13 points. In Monday night's final game, Prince of Peace (2-1) edged out Braelinn Baptist (1-2) by a score of 53-44. Chuck Esloon netted 20 points for Prince of Peace in the win.

The B League took the court Tuesday night. First Methodist stayed perfect by beating Flat Creek Baptist (1-2), 53-44. The team was led in scoring by Mike Kofskey, who scored 16 points. Providence improved its record to 2-0 with a 66-33 victory over Lisbon Baptist (0-3). Glen Armagast was Providence's leading scorer with 14 points.

In the third game of Tuesday evening, Fayette Presbyterian (2-1) defeated Heritage Baptist (0-2) 49-33. Scott Rupert led Fayette Presbyterian with 16 points.

The Fayette County Church League plays in the old Fayette County High School gym Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The missed games will be made up... (haven't heard back yet).
