to assist OM with project On Saturday, Feb. 12, a Tyrone Boy Scout Troop will take on a community service project, planting 5,000 seedling trees on the property of Operation Mobilization (OM), also in Tyrone. Beginning at 9 a.m.,Boy Scout Troop 174, sponsored by First Baptist Church of Tyrone, will work to plant pine seedlings to reforest open field areas. OM, an international Christian mission organization, has its US office and facilities on 63 acres at 285 Lynnwood Ave. in Tyrone. This project will allow the participating Scouts to earn community service hours toward ranks and benefits OM by providing volunteer workers to help with the large planting project. Operation Mobilization has 2,800 members serving in more than 85 countries around the world and onboard two ocean-going mission ships.
