Offshoot to present play about a Titantic sized mystery

A young woman, dressed in early 20th century clothing, is found floating on an iceberg.

She utters one word: “Titanic.” At an isolated location, in a stark, white room, an intense, mysterious man interrogates her with the help of a skeptical doctor. Is the woman deluded or a fake? Or is she somehow a survivor of the famous disaster?

This is the intriguing premise of “Scotland Road,” Offshoot Productions' winter professional show, which opens Jan. 28 at the LaFayette Educational Center (the old Fayette County High School) in Fayetteville. The building's band room is converted into an intimate theater for the run of the production.

Tickets, which are $10 general admission and $8 for full-time students and senior citizens, are now available at two locations: the Fayette Book Shop in Fayetteville, 692 N. Glynn in Fayetteville, 770-461-5907; and the Omega Book Center, 100 N. Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City, 770-487-3977. Tickets also will be sold at the door.

Seating is limited and group reservations should be made as far in advance as possible. Performances are slated for Fridays Jan. 28, Feb. 4 and Feb. 11 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays Jan. 29, Feb. 5 and Feb. 12 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays Feb. 6 and 13 at 3 p.m. There is no performance Jan. 30.
