The Brooks Town Council has set a date for a special called election.

Council Post 4 was vacated by Jimmy Lindsay, who decided not to run for reelection. The only candidate to qualify for the November election was found to be ineligible due to his having lived in the city three weeks shy of a year.

Qualifying will be Feb. 1 - 3 for the special election. Candidates must pay a $15 qualifying fee at the Fayette County Board of Elections, Fayetteville.

The election will be March 21.
