Fayetteville police are looking for an armed robber who struck at a local convenience store in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

According to reports, officers responded at about 45 minutes past midnight to the Flashfoods Exxon at 340 E. Lanier Avenue, where the employee on duty said an unknown assailant produced a gun and took $201.96 from the cash register.

The suspect left the scene in a black 1980 Ford Bronco, reports indicated, with the last two characters on the license plate reading QX.

In two other unrelated incidents, Fayetteville police pulled over two drivers Monday and subsequently arrested them on drug charges.

A 1980 Pontiac Bonneville was stopped just before 9 a.m. Monday on Ga. Highway 85 near the rear exit to PetSmart, reports said. The reason for the stop was a seatbelt violation.

Upon examination of the car, however, police found what was suspected to be crack cocaine. Reggie Brown, 24, of Jonesboro was arrested for cocaine possession, seatbelt violation and no proof of insurance.

Monday afternoon, police responded to a call for a suspected DUI. The car in question, a 1990 Chevrolet Camaro, was in the parking lot of the Speedway at 537 N. Glynn Street, where it was parked with the driver sitting inside.

Police said the driver sat for about 15 minutes before moving the car to the other side of the parking lot. Officers then examined the driver and arrested her.

Charlene Louise Harris, 47, of Fayetteville was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. She was taken to Fayette Community Hospital for a drug test before being taken to jail.
