Construction moving along on Catholic High School

Construction work on Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School in north Fayette County is “moving along nicely,” according to Sister Dawn Gear, principal of the new secondary school. “The walls are up and the roof is on,” Gear said Thursday.

Unity nothing new to Fayette churches

For the past 18 months, I have been writing about most of the 106 churches in Fayette County and its one synagogue. There are about 30 churches that did not respond when contacted by phone and then by letter

Fayette Co. High named School of Excellence

Fayette County High School has been named a Georgia School of Excellence for 2000. The announcement was made Thursday by Linda Schrenko, state school superintendent, who named 19 schools statewide to the list. “Being selected as a Georgia School of Excellence is one of the highest honors our public schools can receive,” Schrenko said.
