Local boy races well in first season

You can attribute Kyle Stinchcomb's success in the Junior Stock WKA Dirt Series to the daredevil attitude of being 13, or you could call it beginner's luck.

Either way, Stinchcomb, an eighth grader at Fayette Middle School, has shown that he has what it takes to race with the best.

This was Stinchomb's first year on the track but he began his love of racing at the age of 6. He accumulated six first place trophies this year, 13 overall, also gaining regional attention in the Regional Karting Connection magazine. Much of his racing takes place at the Coweta Raceway, where he led the points standings until late in the season. Stinchcomb experienced mechanical problems and ended up finishing in third place.

Stinchcomb does more than just race. When he's not racing on the weekends at Coweta Raceway, the North Georgia Carting Complex or Thunder Ridge in Lanet, Ala., he is playing football or basketball for Fayette Middle School. He continues to work toward his dream to become a NASCAR driver and will do more racing next season as he continues to travel with the “Big Wrench” racing team.
