Catherine Boyd Reeder

Catherine Boyd Reeder, 89, Peachtree City, died Dec. 18, 2004. She was born May 17, 1915 in Pittsburg, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Reeder. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, Newnan.

Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. David Campbell officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Survivors include sons, Martin R. and Lonnie Reeder, Peachtree City, and David R. and Vicki Reeder, Ruckersville, Va.; grandchildren, David R. Reeder Jr., Dacula, Ga., James N. Reeder, Newnan, Michelle West, Woodstock, and Eric M. Reeder, Peachtree City; and five great-grandchildren.

John Batten

John Batten, 60, Jonesboro, died Dec. 19, 2004. He was born April 11, 1944 in Charlottesville, Va. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Matthews Batten. He had served in the United States Air Force.

Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. Lester Cooper officiating. interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Survivors include daughters, Michelle McMonigle, Fayetteville, Kimberly Conoly, McDonough, and Danielle Batten, Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Pinchback, Richmond, Va.

Nicolette Ann White Rose

Nicolette Ann White Rose, 53, Tyrone, died Dec. 17, 2004. She was born April 7, 1951 in Broome County, N.Y. Memorial services were at Carl J. Mowell chapel.

Survivors include her husband, Rick Rose, Tyrone; sons, Jason Wade and Rebecca McLarty, Tyrone, and Charles and Samantha McLarty, Peachtree City; a daughter, Melissa and Buddy Norkauer, Alabama; grandchildren, Allie Rose Norkauer, and Lillie Beth Norkauer; father, Jack White, Panama City, Fla.; mother, Arlene Clark, Palmetto; and sisters, Denise White, Panama City, Fla., Marie Pappalardo, and Jackie Minks, Palmetto.

Jane Huddleston

Jane Huddleston, 84, Fayetteville, died Dec. 20, 2004. She was an active member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church.

Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church Overton chapel with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include a son, Danny and Lilleen Hammond, Greenville, N. C.; daughters, Paulette and Walter Dozier, Hayesville, N.C., and K. Sandi Hammond, Pompano Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Scott Dozier, Todd Dozier, and Christ Dozier, and Ashley Hammond; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Joel Rucker, Imperial Beach, Calif., and L. C. Rucker, Pensacola, Fla.; and sisters, Shirley Parrish, Norfolk, Va., and Sara Lucas, Ramona, Calif.

Louise Donaldson Kirby

Louise Donaldson Kirby, 92, died Dec. 21, 2004. She would have been 93 on Dec. 26. She was born in Chamblee, Ga., the daughter of William and Nellie Collett Donaldson. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Dwight Freeman Kirby, a son, Tolleson Kirby, and a granddaughter, Gwen Bramblett. She was graduated from Chamblee High School and played for a semi-professional basketball team, and was known as “little bit.” She had lived in Fayette County since 1941 working with her husband the farm, driving the tractor, growing vegetables, milking cows, and rearing four children. After the children were grown, she worked at Alford’s store on the square in Fayetteville, and then as a tax clerk for Fayette County until her retirement. She was an excellent seamstress, loved flowers, gardening and cherishing her family. A longtime member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church, she and her husband worked in Training Union with young people. She was a member of the Wise Sunday School class, and as a charter member was involved with the start of Peachtree City First Baptist Church.

Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Stringham and Dr. Marcus Bramblett officiating. Interment was at Fayetteville City Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Freeman and Dottie Kirby, Texas; daughters, Jerry and Marc Bramblett, and Donna Kirby, all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Marcia and Mike Edge, Amy and Steve Waldron, Mark and Kelly Bramblett Jr., Matt and Sandi Bramblett, Leila and Mark Wathen, Freeman “Rod” Kirby Jr., and Dr. Wendy and Mark Speets; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred and Irene Donaldson, Douglasville; and a sister, Avie Donaldson Smith, Hiawassee.

Marion Joseph Adams

Marion Joseph “Buster” Adams, 88, Peachtree City, died Dec. 21, 2004. He was born Dec. 17, 1916 in Fulton County. He was a member of Heatherwood Baptist Church, Riverdale.

Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Tom Daugherty officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Jonesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Manning Adams, Peachtree City; a son, George and Diane Adams, Atlanta; daughters Marion “Ann” English, Peachtree City, Marie “Sissy” and Kalb Ivey, Atlanta, and Sherri and Randy Morris, Fayetteville; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Harold Irvin Sewell

Harold Irvin Sewell, 66, Fayetteville, died Dec. 23, 2004. He was born Sept. 29, 1938 in Fulton County.

Graveside services were at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene deMedicis Sewell, Fayetteville; a son, Craig Sewell, Hampton, a daughter, Terri Sewell, Fayetteville; mother, Trausdelee Sewell; a granddaughter, Jena Sewell; and a sister, Juanita Formby, Pikesville, Tenn.

Stephen Dax Lawrence, 20, Fayetteville, died Dec. 23, 2004. He was born Oct. 4, 1984 in Fulton County.

Services were at the McDonough Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Chambers, the Rev. Dr. Ike Reighard, and the Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include his parents, Larry and Judy Lawrence, Fayetteville; a grandmother, Vera Berry, Milledgeville; and an aunt, Lynne and Eric Brantley, Milledgeville.

Dan Harvey McChesney

Dan Harvey McChesney, 77, Fayetteville, died Dec. 25, 2004. He was born in Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Molly McChesney.

Services were at Lisbon Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlton Swicegood and the Rev. Dr. Jim Dorriety officiating. interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn.

Survivors include daughters, Phyllis Motes, Douglasville, and April and David Streetman, Douglasville; a brother, Drs. John and Margaret McChesney, Virginia; grandchildren, Leigh Anne Williamson, Les Motes, Lauren Motes, Lance Motes, Daniel Streetman, and Katherine Streetman; and great-grandchildren, Charlie Williamson and Emma Williamson.
