He worked for the ABF Freight System and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #728. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Glenn Bailey and Tim Jordan officiating. Interment was at Flat Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Carver McElwaney, Fayetteville; children, Toby McKinnon, Senoia, Timmy McKinnon, Kennesaw, and Tosha Tidd, Tifton; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Douglas McElwaney, Tampa. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. Harry H. Guptill Harry H. Guptill, 86, Fayetteville, died Sept. 27, 2004. He was born June 14, 1918 in Elizabeth, N. J. He settled in Atlanta after serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera McDaniel, who died in 1971. He was active in the Delta Pioneers, having retired from Delta Airlines with 35 years as a machinist. He was an active member of Hapeville First United Methodist Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. Rebecca Jones officiating. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include his wife, whom he married in 1973, Dorothy Elzey Guptill, Fayetteville; children, Wesley and Linda Guptill, Charlotte, N. C., and Philip and Kathy Guptill, Forest Park, Ga.; stepchildren, Larry Elzey, and Marsha Elzey Walker, both of Fayetteville; and Michael Elzey, Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. Maebelle L. Foster Maebelle L. Foster, 85, Fayetteville, died Sept. 27, 2004. She was born Aug. 15, 1919 in Clarkesville, N. Y. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Evan Foster. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jim Willis officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon and John McMahon, Fayetteville; a brother, Perry and Ellodine Lamberton, Red Springs, N. C.; a sister, Veronica and Bob Potter, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Tim and Angie McMahon, Sean and Tonya McMahon, Shannon and Kevin Juademan, and Brendan McMahon; and seven great-grandchildren. Matthews Sr., 50, Fayetteville, died Sept. 28, 2004. He was born July 11, 1954 in Fulton County. Graveside services were at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Survivors include his wife, Pam Matthews, Fayetteville; sons, Ricky and Amy Matthews Jr., Newnan, and Dustin Matthews, Fayetteville; a daughter, Amy and Mark Hanes, Sharpsburg; five grandchildren; a brother, Terry and Barbara Matthews, Brooks; sisters, Jean Darden, Fayetteville, and Gale Malcom, Newnan; and a brother-in-law, John Batten, Jonesboro.
