Wyndolyn Allen, 70, Newnan, died July 28, 2003. She was born Nov. 14, 1932 in Newnan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Wright and a son, Rodney Allen. She graduated from the Howard Warner School, Newnan, and attended the Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee, Ala. She joined Mt. Vernon Baptist Church at a very early age, and served on committees including the Gospel Choir, Deaconess Board, and the Courtesy Guild. Services were at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip A. Carr officiating. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Malachi Allen; daughters, Robin Johnson and Rhonda Allen, both of Newnan; her father, Henry Wright, Long Island, N. Y.; a granddaughter, Bynghum Johnson, Newnan; a great-granddaughter, Jashulynn Smith, Newnan; an uncle, Frank Wright, Bronx, N. Y.; aunts, Juanita Adams, Dayton, Ohio, and Mary Ella Patterson, Newnan; and special family members, the Gerald Dennis family, Lawrence, S. C., and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Williams, Atlanta. Allen Davis
Allen “Big Bird” Davis, 46, Newnan, died July 27, 2003. He was born Oct. 20, 1956 in Fulton County. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bobby Godbee, and Warner Smith officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Cason Davis, Newnan; a son Andrew “Andy” Davis, Newnan; parents, Carlton and Inez Davis, Newnan; and sisters, Donna and Joey Highnote, Douglasville, and Cindy and Craig Cox, Jonesboro. Robert Allen
Robert L. Allen, 70, Sharpsburg, formerly of Burlington, N. C., died July 31, 2003. He was born March 2, 1933 in Burlington, N. C. Survivors include his wife, Bette Allen, Sharpsburg; sons, Robert Allen, and Danny Allen, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Michael Allen, Sharpsburg; a daughter, Debra Bond, Lawrenceville; and grandchildren, Kayla Allen and Jake Bond. Winnie Owsley
Winnie Ozell Owsley, 80, Newnan, died Aug. 3, 2003. She was born June 14, 1924 in Carroll County, daughter of Benjamin and Cora Mae Thornton. She was preceded by her husband of 60 years, Arthur Lewis Owsley Sr., whom she married in 1943. She worked for many of the local textile mills and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was a member of Cove Baptist Church, Woodbury. Services were at the Jones Funeral Home chapel, Newnan, with the Rev. Melvin Payne officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery, College Park. Survivors include sons, Arthur Lewis Owsley Jr., and Lewis Laverne Owsley, both of Panama City, Fla.; and Michael Howard Owsley, Newnan; a daughter, Deborah and Wayne Presnell , Newnan; a sister, Estelle Brown, Warm Springs, Ga.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Johnnie Newby
Johnnie Abercrombie Newby, 74, Sharpsburg, died Aug. 3, 2003. She was born May 19, 1929 in Coweta County to the late John W. and Annie Coffey Abercrombie. She was a member of the White Oak Associate Reform Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of Coca-Cola Enterprises. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev.
