Warna Kay Williams, 78, Newnan, died June 5, 2002. She was born Aug. 20, 1923 in Edge Hill, Miss., the daughter of the late John and Clara Akridge. She was preceded in death also by brothers, Wendell Akridge, J. M. Akridge, Kenneth Akridge, and Lendel Akridge. She was graduated from school in Ellington, Miss. and later lived in St. Louis, Miss, where she worked at the Small Arms Munitions Plant during World War II. She then worked until retirement in 1985 at White Rodgers, a division of Emerson Electric. She moved to Newnan to live with a daughter and was a prayer team coordinator and care taker for babies in the mothers morning out program at Crossroads Church, Newnan.
Services were at the Jones Funeral Home, Newnan, with Pastor Ken Adams officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Kay and David Benton, Newnan; grandchildren, Cindy and Ronnie Edgar, Sharpsburg, and Tim and Leta Benton, Covington; brothers, Bell and Ruth Akridge, Imperial, Miss., Joe and Judy Akridge, Vienna, Miss. and Cleon and Janice Akridge, Affton, Miss.; and a sister, Emma Lou and Jack Pogue, Barnhart, Miss.
Memorial donations may be made to the Southwest Christian hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291.

Fannie Maude Eidson, 84, Newnan, died June 6, 2002. She was born Dec. 27, 1917 in Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Travis Eidson, and a son, Caswell Edison. She was the choir director at Arnco Baptist Church for 28 years, and she and her husband had children in school for 42 years. She knew Sacred Harp music and was a faithful supporter of her husband’s ministry. She was retired from the textile industry.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, with the Rev. Ken Norton, the Rev. Dr. C. A. Jernigan, and the Rev. Roop Caswell officiating.
Survivors include sons, Marcus and Patricia Eidson, Newnan, Rodger and Lynda Eidson, Dalton, and Tim and Lila Eidson, Adel, Ga.; a daughter, Elizabeth and Dick Hodgson, Newnan; grandchildren, Ben Eidson, Cindy Eidson, Hank Eidson, Jeff Edison, Jud Eidson, Patrick Eidson, Skylar Eidson; a great-granddaughter, Len Eidson; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Jackson Eidson.
Memorial donations may be made to the Arnco Baptist Church.

Harry Thomas Grizzard, 73, Newnan, died June 9, 2002. He was born July 7, 1928 in Coweta County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Velma Grizzard, brother, Charles Grizzard, a sister, Nell Jones, and a grandson, Anthony McKoon. He was a member of the Sargent Baptist Church.
Graveside services were at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan, with the Rev. Mike Merritt officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Sue Grizzard; a son, Steve and Pam Simpson; daughters, Ann and Jimmy Costlow, Anita and Nathan Ford, Tina and Tony McKoon, Sharon and David Parker, Cindy and Howard Shelnutt, and Vickie Grizzard; a sister-in-law, Betty Grizzard; brothers-in-law, Ferrell Jones and Horace Jones; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

 

Ruth Genevieve Collins, 81, Moreland, died June 10, 2002. She was born Sept. 26, 1920 in Harrisburg, Pa., the daughter of Charles and Alta Russell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Newnan.
Services were Hillcrest Chapel with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include sons, Delbert and Linda Collins, Gary A. Collins, and Donald and Marlene Collins; a daughter, Barbara Ruth C. and Duane Craig; brothers, Charles E Russell Jr., and Raymond Boyer; sisters, Bernice Bolyard, and Lola Mae White; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.

 

Frances Vivian Schofield, 81, Grantville, died June 12, 2002. She was born May 26, 1921 in Arcadia, DeSota County, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Randolph Schofield Sr. She was retired from sales in the insurance industry.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, with Minister Mansell Carpenter officiating. Interment was at the Pitts Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include sons, Gary Schofield, Greg Scholfield, Grantville, Randy Schofield, Franklin, and Steve Schofield, Sarasota, Fla.; brothers, Edward Mickler, Tampa, Fla., and William Mickler, Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Zulien, Starling, Panama City, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Harriett Marie Fletcher, 47, Newnan, died June 13, 2002. She was born Nov 22, 1954 in Fulton County, the daughter of Carl and Evelyn Deleshaw.
Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, with Howard Alexander officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn, College Park.
Survivors include her mother, Evelyn Camp Deleshaw; sons, Jason and April Deleshaw, Grantville, and Brent Fletcher, Palmetto; a daughter, Alice Fletcher, Palmetto; a brother, Carl Deleshaw, Newnan; sisters, Brenda Creel, Palmetto, and Becky Casey, Newnan; and three grandchildren.
