Haven Wilson

Infant Haven Rose Wilson, Senoia, died April 15, 2002.
Graveside services were at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Wilson officiating.
Survivors include her father, John Thomas Wilson, Haralson; mother, Andrea Quick, Senoia; paternal grandparents, Pete and Belinda Wilson, Haralson; maternal grandparents, Donald and Anita Smith, Senoia; Paternal great-grandparents, James and Opal Thompson, Brooks; and maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Nita Pate, Shiloh.
Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.

C. Edwin Brasch

C. Edwin Brasch, 96, Grantville, died April 16, 2002. He was born Sept. 2, 1906 in Grantville, son of John Fitzgerald and Gaby Cotton Brasch. He was a lifelong resident of Grantville, was retired as vice president of C&S Bank, Newnan, and had served as president of Banks Brothers Company in Granville. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grantville and had served on the administrative board. He served a number of years on the Grantville City Council and was a former member of the Newnan Kiwanis Club.
Graveside services were at the Grantville Cemetery with the Rev. Darris Baker officiating.
Survivors include a son, Ed and Issac Arnold Brasch, Atlanta; and grandchildren, Charles Brasch, Athens and Caroline Brasch, Gainesville.

Mary Smith

Mary Laurene Smith, 78, Newnan, died April 17, 2002. She was born April 26, 1923, daughter of the late Robert and Hattie Huggins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Horace Hinesley, who died in 1964 and Richard L. Smith, who died in 1975. She grew up and spent most of her life in the Whitesburg area where she attended school and worked for the Arnco-Sargent Textile Mills. She was a member of the Whitesburg Christian Church for over 70 years and also taught Sunday School. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and growing flowers, especially gladiola’s.
Services were at the Jones Funeral Home chapel with Minister Caryl Strange officiating. Interment was at Sargent Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Janice and Reginald Duncan, Anis and Donald Hendrix, and Hazel and Eugene Tollerson, all of Newnan; a sister, Mattie Stevens, Augusta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Ida Strother

Ida Casey Strother, 98, Newnan, died April 18, 2002. She was born Aug. 31, 1903 in Lincoln County, Ga.
Graveside services were at Rest Haven Cemetery, Washington, Ga.
Survivors include a son, Tim Strother, South Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister, Sarah Walton, Georgia; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

John Meadows

John William Meadows, 72, Newnan, died April 19, 2002. He was born Dec. 15, 1929 in Fort Payne, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Esner Meadows, Sargent; a brother, Z. D. Meadows; and a sister, Grace Rooker, Newnan. He had worked for William L. Bonnell Company in the extrusion department.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with Jason Thompson and Carl Calhoun officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel T. Meadows, Newnan; brothers, Sonny and Lorena Meadows, Lawrenceville, and Lloyd and Connie Meadows, Riverdale; and a sister, Joyce M. Thompson, Sargent, Ga.

Vivian Wood Hunter

Vivian Louise Wood Hunter, 77, Newnan, died April 20, 2002. She was born June 13, 1924 in Coweta County. She was retired from Southern Bell Telephone, was a member of the White Oak Presbyterian Church and a volunteer with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Newnan Hospital.
Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Tom Shoger officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include a brother, Murlyn and Linda Wood, Conyers; a sister, Corene Wood Wallace, Newnan; a brother-in-law, Vernon “Mutt” and Sue Hunter, Senoia; sisters-in-law, Lucrette Wood, LaGrange, Jean W. Bruce, Mableton, Clouys Wood, Lula Strickland Hunter and Elizabeth Landers Hunter, all of Newnan, and Mary Ellen Hunter Spearman and Betty Hunter Rogers, both of Senoia.
Memorial donations may be made to the White Oak Presbyterian Church Kids Club, 2796 Gordon Rd., Senoia, GA 30276.

Donald Allen

Donald Ray Allen, 50, Moreland, died April 21, 2002. He was born Oct. 24, 1951, in Worthville, Ky., son of the late Glenn Orrison and Margia Merritt Allen. He was a former resident of Stockbridge, and had lived in Moreland and Luthersville for the past eight years. He was a driver for Waggoner Trucking Company.
A memorial service was at the Claude A. McKibben chapel with the Rev. Darrell Hudgins officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Allen, Moreland; sons, David Allen and Jason Turner, both of Moreland, and Donnie Allen; a daughter, Jennifer Turner, Moreland; brothers, William O. Allen, DeFuniak Springs, Fla., Paul Allen, Mesa, Ariz., Robert E. Allen, Morrow, and Glenn Darryl Allen, Gibson; sisters, Georgia Smith and Leigh Lala, both of McDonough, Brenda Allen, Rex, Deborah Lane, Dacula, Linda Kinsey, Fayetteville, and Joyce “Betty” Allen, Jonesboro; and a grandson, William Ray Turner.
