Mary V. Griffin

Mary V. Griffin, 84, Union City, died May 2, 2002. She was born June 19, 1917 in Fulton County. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jim Ellison officiating. Interment was at Fairburn City Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Glenn and Vickie Griffin, Senoia; daughters Sandra and Durrell Franklin, Prattville, Ala., Nancy and Jim Cashon, Riverdale, and Glenna and George Reimel, Stockbridge ;a sister, Ruth Honea, Fayetteville; a sister-in-law, Clara Rivers, Fairburn; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.

Brenda Diane Lewis

Brenda Diane Lewis, 54, Fayetteville, died May 1, 2002. She was born Aug. 12, 1947 in Spalding County, Ga. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Martin Jones officiating. Interment was at Liberty Hill Baptist Church cemetery, Lovejoy. Survivors include daughters, Kasandra and Joseph Betsill, and Lori and Doug Hardy, all of Fayetteville, and Mandy and Wesley Pyle, Maryville, Tenn.; brothers, James Robert Hamlett, and Michael Anthony Hall, both of Hampton, Larry Joseph Hall, Griffin, and Byron and Melanie Hall, Jackson; and eight grandchildren. Gabrielle Camille Anesetti

Infant Gabrielle Camille Anesetti, three months, died February 3, 2002. She was born May 3, 2002 in Clayton County. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Sam Calleiro officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include her parents, Michael and Mandy Anesetti, Fayetteville; a brother, Carson Anesetti, Fayetteville; a sister, Charlsy Anesetti, Fayetteville; and grandparents, Charles and Eve Garrett, Fayetteville, and Anthony and Charmaine Anesetti, Pennsylvania. Teshia Marie Smithers

Teshia Marie Smithers, 83, Fayetteville, died May 5, 2002. She was born Aug. 32, 1918 in Charleston W. Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Quarrier Smithers, a daughter, Nancy Louise Smithers; and a grandson, John David Finney. Survivors include a daughter, Jo and Joe Finney, Fayetteville; grandsons, Stephen and Elizabeth Finney, Middleton, Ohio, and Earl William and Pam Finney, Madison, Wis.; and four great-grandchildren. Martha Carol Broderick

Martha Carol Broderick, 70, Peachtree City, died May 5, 2002. She was born Nov. 15, 1931 in Covington, Newton County, Ga. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Carl Adams officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Broderick, Peachtree City; sons, Dennis Broderick, Tyrone, and Dean and Donna Broderick, Prattville, Ala.; a daughter, Denise and Daniel Rhodes, Peachtree City; five grandchildren; brothers, Tim Evans, Alaska, and Terry Evans, Madison, Ga.; and sisters, Jerry and Frank Pruitt, Conyers, Joyce and Richard Wortham, Douglasville, and Melba Hargrove, Covington. Grace H. Rhodes

Grace H. Rhodes, Fayetteville, formerly of Brunswick, Ga., died May 4, 2002. She was born in Wilkinson County, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. C. “Dusty” Rhodes. She was a member of the former McKendree United Methodist Church. Services were at the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home chapel, Brunswick, with the Rev. Joe Newton officiating. Interment at the Palmetto Cemetery, Brunswick, Ga. Survivors include a son, Michael J. Drury, Houston, Texas; a daughter, Marcia and Milton Ash, Peachtree City; granddaughters, Cheryl and Bill Huddleston, Peachtree City, and Pam and Ted Roof, Durham, N. C.; great-grandchildren, Jennilee Huddleston, and Julie Huddleston, Peachtree City, and Michael Roof and Terrance Roof, Durham, N. C.; and sisters, Joan Butler, Irwington, Ga., and Dorothy Hair, Coincord, S. C. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Carl J. George R. Lynch

George R. Lynch, 80, Peachtree City, died May 7, 2002. He was born April 6, 1922 in Jeffersonville, Ind. He served in World War II, and even though he received a serious injury in Okinawa, he recovered and continued to serve as a civilian consultant during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He worked at the army depot in Columbus, Ohio, as a liaison officer, and oversaw the southeast area for the United States Mobility Equipment Command. He was a member of the American Legion and an active member of Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, were he was a trustee of its columbarium. He often delivered bread to local shelters. A memorial service was at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Peachtree City with Pastor John Weber and Pastor Miriam Beecher officiating. Survivors include his wife, Carole Lynch, Peachtree City; children, George and Andrea Lynch, Barbara Trumps, and Jim and Susan Lynch, all of Columbus, Ohio, and Dan and Sharon Lynch, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Steven and Kathy Trumps, John and Christie Trumps, Annalese Lynch, Jordan Lynch, Michael Ayres, all of Columbus, Ohio, and Mark Lynch and Kristin Lynch, both of Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Nickolas, Aspen, and Wade; and brothers, Charles Lynch, Clarkesville, Ind., and Richard Lynch, Jeffersonville, Ind. Constance S. Gillette

Constance S. “Connie” Gillette, 71, Fayetteville, died May 8, 2002. She was born Feb. 5, 1931 in Wilson, N. C. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Survivors include a son, Richard L. and Ann Gillette Jr., Mulberry, Fla.; a daughter, Denise and Bart Davis, Fayetteville; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, David Smith, Maryland; and a sister, Doris Paul, N.
