George Richard Campbell Sr.

George Richard Campbell Sr., 78, Union City, died Jan. 15, 2002. He was born June 8, 1923 in Tampa, Fla., son of the late George Ira and Elva Lyman Campbell. He was a veteran of the Army in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emmaleen Shelor Campbell in 1994. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Morco Food Distributors. Services were at the Thomas Funeral Home, Calhoun, Ga. with the Rev. Sandra Fendley officiating. Interment was in the family lot of Fain Cemetery. Survivors include a son, George Campbell Jr., Woodstock; daughters, Shelor C. Gilbert, Sharpsburg, Kathy Jordan, Stone Mountain, and Jennifer C. Fendley, Fayetteville; a brother, Roger Campbell, Asheville, N. C.; grandchildren, John Gilbert Jr., Patrick Gilbert, and Rebekah Campbell; and great-grandchildren, Allen Michael Gilbert, Donovan Alexander Gilbert, and Emmaleen Alexis Ehrets. Margit Knaf Gallimore

Margit Knaf Gallimore, 71, Atlanta, died Jan. 16, 2002. She was born Nov. 28, 1930 in Czechoslovakia. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruno Michael Gallimore. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Father Jimmy Adams officiating. Interment was at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta. Survivors include her husband, Elven Robert Gallimore Jr., Atlanta; a son, Elven R. Gallimore III, Atlanta; daughters, Geneva and Fred Weaver, Fayetteville, and Maria and Robert Adamson, Stockbridge; grandchildren, Robert Adamson Jr., Matthew Adamson and Stephen Adamson, John Weaver, and Margit Weaver; a brother, Horst Knaf, Germany; and cousins, Karl and Linda Knaf, Lotte and Heinrich Wage, and Hella Schejbal, all of Germany. Kethryn K. Spohn

Kathryn K. Spohn, 89, Peachtree City, died Jan. 7, 2002. She was born May 20, 1912 in Pittsburgh, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Noonan King. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edward F. Spohn. She was in the first graduating class of Carlow College in Pittsburgh, where she taught for 29 years. Memorial services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. John Walsh officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include daughters, Patricia Martano, Bronx, N. Y., and Bobbye Hager, Peachtree City; grandchildren, Gerald K. McGurt, Michael P. McGurt, and Daniel S. McGurt; and four great-grandchildren. Arthur Emil Marvin

Arthur Emil Marvin, 83, Sharpsburg, died Jan. 13, 2002. He was born April 25, 1918 in Brooklyn, Kings County, N. Y. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine E. Kramer Marvin. He was one of the original members of Flat Creek Golf Club and one of the original founds of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was also very active in St. Vincent de Paul, the Optimist Club and the Kiwanis Club. Services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Father John Walsh officiating. Survivors include his children, Barbara and George Heatwole, Sharpsburg, Arthur and Janet Marvin, Port Jefferson, N. Y., William and Eileen Marvin, Garden City, N. Y., Charles and Sandra Marvin, Peachtree City, George and Sally Marvin, Dallas, Texas, and Frank and Kimberley Marvin, Sharpsburg; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Carl J. Nell Statler

Nell Statler, 79, Peachtree City, died Jan. 18, 2002. She was born Oct. 21, 1923 in Wood County, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Edith Watkins Williams. She was preceded in death by Carl W. Statler. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Peachtree City, and the Order of Eastern Star, Bethel Park, Pa. Survivors include sons, Jeffrey Statler, Wilmington, N. C., Mark C. Statler, Jacksonville, N. C. and Craig Statler, Peachtree City, Ga; and five grandchildren. Wilbur Lee Stanley

Wilbur Lee Stanley, 82, Fayetteville, died Jan. 18, 2002. He was born May 4, 1919 in Fayette County, the son of William Claude and Decie Nipper Stanley. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald “Donnie” Lee Stanley Jr. Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Stringham and the Rev. Frank Ellis officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Louise Huddleston Stanley, Fayetteville; a son, Donald Lee and Sandy Stanley, Fairburn; daughters, Willene and Gary Turner, Opelika, Ala., and Barbara and Steve Presley, Senoia; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren on the way; brothers, Benny and Lucy Stanley, Morrow, and Walter and Dot Stanley, Fayetteville; a sister, Margaret Davis, Fayetteville; and a sister-in-law, Irene Stanley, Fayetteville; Carl J. Edwin B. Branch

Edwin B. Branch, 86, Fayetteville, died Jan. 19, 2002. He was born Jan. 23, 1915 in Decatur, Ga. He was a lumber salesman with Atlanta Oak Flooring and retired from MacMillan Bloedel Associated Companies in Vancouver, B. C. Graveside services were at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Rogers Branch, Fayetteville; a son, Edwin B. Branch; a daughter, Sandra Rausing; stepchildren, Natalie C. Wilson, L. Jack Clark, and Andrews R. Dorothy Loyd Heath

Dorothy Loyd Heath, 86, Fayetteville, died Jan. 18, 2002. She was born May 22, 1915 in Fayette County, the daughter of Oscar and Birdie Betsill Phillips. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilber Loyd, a son, Darold Loyd, and her second husband, Eugene Heath. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. Sam Matthews officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Cemetery, Fayetteville. Survivors include grandsons, Mitchell Loyd and Mark Loyd; a great-grandson, Darrell Loyd; a daughter-in-law, Anita Meyer; a brother, Betsill Phillips, Newnan; a sister, Sara Phillips Brown, Augusta; nephews, Dr. Keith Brown, Gainesville, and Dr. Randy Brown, Baltimore; and nieces, Brenda Micali, Palmetto, Fla., Deborah Bambrick, Augusta, and Lisa Newberry, Loganville. Phillip Ray Green

Phillip Ray Green, 46, Peachtree City, formerly of Wheelersburg, Ohio, died Jan. 23, 2002. He was born Oct. 2, 1955 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence H. Green, grandparents, Norman and Bessie Conley Bowling, step-grandfather, Lee R. Adkins, and uncle and aunt, Frank and Nanny Bowling. He was a member of Braelinn Baptist Church, established and served as president of the board of directors of the Braelinn Community Services Group, a Christian community social services agency. Memorial services were at Braelinn Baptist Church with interment at Westminster Memorial Cemetery, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife, Jan Zeppa Green, Peachtree City; sons, Jordan Green and Tyler Green, both of Fayetteville; parents, Rinford and Sudie Green, Wheelersburg, Ohio; stepchildren, Sarah Zeppa, Jonathan Zeppa and Katherine Zeppa, all of Peachtree City; brothers, Scott and Tina Green, Wheelersburg, Ohio, and David and Beth Green, Peachtree City; maternal grandmother, Laura Green Adkins, South Webster, Ohio; and nephews, Christopher and Connor Green, Peachtree City; and Michael Green, Wheelersburg, Ohio. Vera Inez Williams Kelly

Vera Inez Williams Kelly, 76, Fayetteville, died Jan. 21, 2002. She was born May 24, 1925 in Paulding County, Ga. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Charles Pate officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include her husband, George Armer Kelly, Fayetteville; sons, Michel and Judy Williams, Fayetteville, and Roger Williams, Douglasville; stepchildren, Becky Allgood, George Kelly Jr. and Ronnie Kelly, all of Stockbridge; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Hazel Hall

Hazel Hall, 89, Fayetteville, died Jan. 22, 2002. She was born Oct. 17, 1912 in Fulton County. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with Elder Ken Hall and Elder Curtis Morton officiating. Interment was at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Clarence Hall, Fayetteville; a son, Don and Dot Hall, Garden Grove, Calif.; a sister, Justine McElwaney, Florida; grandchildren, Kells and Vicki Hall, Anaheim, Calif., and Ken and Roshelle Hall, Medford, Ore.; and great-grandchildren, Stephen Hall, Joshua Hall, and Daniel Hall.
