Lonnie Curtis Williamson, 79, Newnan, died Aug. 21, 2001. He was born Sept. 22, 1921 in Heard County, Ga. He was a veteran of the United States Army in World War II and was retired from Royal Molded Products. Services were at Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. F. D. McWhorter officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include his wife, Doris Williamson, Newnan; a son, Ronald Williamson, Newnan; three grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Sunnyside Baptist Church, 255 Greenville St., Newnan, GA 30263 Martin & Hightower Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.
Julia Bowers
Julia Bowers, 83, Newnan, died Aug. 26, 2001. She was born June 28, 1918 in Coweta County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Brown, who had been a 35-year educator in the Coweta County system. They had been married for 42 years. She was a member of the Never Grow Old Club, AARP, Senior Friends and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Newnan for 49 years. She was retired after 25 years with the Coweta County Board of Education as a bookkeeper. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Harry Barrow and the Rev. Meg Jackson Clark officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include daughters Susie and Richard E. Daniel, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Katie and Robert L. Poppell, Grovetown, Ga.; a sister, Virginia Talley, Newnan, Ga.; and grandchildren John Daniel, St. Petersburg, Fla., Rick Daniel, Bellevue, Wash., and Rob and Alex Poppell, Grovetown, Ga. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
