Hope Garner McDonald

Hope Garner McDonald, 62, Fayetteville, died July 14, 2001. She was a veteran of the United States Navy. She was born July 5, 1939 in New London, Conn. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Paul Butterworth officiating. Survivors include a son, Bennie Mc Donald Jr., Locust Grove; daughters, Tracy Barry, Palmetto, Kelli Scarbeck, Fayetteville, and Karen Paulson, Destin, Fla.; brothers, Mike Garner, Myrtle Point, Ore., and Terry Garner, North Bend, Ore.; a sister, Sue Morris, Tillamook, Ore.; and grandchildren, Somer Price, Kurt Trump, Cameron Barry and Andrew Scarbeck. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.

Stella Ann McEachern Tate

Stella Ann McEachern Tate, 101, Fayetteville, died July 17, 2001. She was born June 18, 1900 in Fayette County, the daughter of Walter Wiley and Hattie Graeum McEachern. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Tate in 1980. They had married in 1928. Services were at Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Overton, the Rev. Charlie Grovenstein and the Rev. Otis Andrews officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include children, Joyce and Ernie Bannister, Woolsey, John W. “Billy” Tate, Sharpsburg, and Janice and Joe Lynch, Fayetteville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Ivey, Sandersville, and Muriel Williams and Viva Huddleston, both of Fayetteville. Memorial donations may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 680 Ebenezer Church Road, Fayetteville, GA 30215. Carl J. James Thomas Butler

James Thomas Butler, 59, Fayetteville, died July 18, 2001. He was born May 31, 1942 in Fayette County. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Preston Butler and a brother, Carlton Butler. Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Jim Ellison officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include sons, Ronnie Butler, Warner Robbins, Billy and Linda Butler, Griffin, and Keith Butler, Jonesboro; daughters, Pennie Butler, Flowery Branch, and Kathy Butler, Oakwood; grandchildren, Adam, Jake, Heidi, and Katie; mother, Catherine Hardy Butler; a brother, Raymond Butler; and sisters, Frances Bailey, Margie Harris, Becky McAghee, and Retha White. Rosa Lee Blair

Rosa Lee Blair, 75, Tyrone, died July 18, 2001. She was born Sept. 21, 1925 in Fulton County. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Les Shell and the Rev. Dr. James “Jim” Burdette officiating. interment was at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone. Survivors include daughters, Linda and Ronnie Adams, Tyrone, Judy and Kenneth Stubbs, Suwanee, and Shirley and Danny Henderson, Snellville; brothers, Guy Bright, Douglasville, Bill Bright, Monroe, and Gene Bright, Live Oak, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Charles Damon Howard

Charles Damon Howard, 80, Tyrone, died July 19, 2001. He was born April 7, 1921 in Bartow County, Ga. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn. Survivors include a son, Michael and Lynne Howard, Fayetteville; a daughter, Rhonda Moon, Tyrone; a brother, J. W. Howard, Atlanta; grandchildren, Jason and Damon; and a great-grandchild, Micalah. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.

Sue P. Sosebee

Sue P. Sosebee, 74, Fayetteville, died July 16, 2001. She was born Sept. 21, 1926 in Clarksville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sosebee. She was active in her church serving in various positions including Alter Guild, Vestry, chairperson of the Worship Committee and delegate to the Diocesan Council. Services were at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Father Bob Hudak officiating. Interment was at Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, Ga. Survivors include a daughter, Judy and Joe Byrd, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jennifer Byrd and Megan Byrd, both of Fayetteville; a brother, Gene and Sue Pardue, Clarkesville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Grace Burton, Evelyn Tanksley, Annette and Clyde Tench, Christine and Cosby Spivey, Tony and Linda Sosebee, all of Clarkesville, Gail and Charles Kastner, Powder Springs, Ruth and Dewey Sosebee, Newport News, Va., Dot Sosebee, Independence, Mo., and Julie and Charles Sosebee, Las Vegas, Nev. Lt. Col. Christopher Steven Kentch

Christopher Steven Kentch, lieutenant colonel, retired, 47, Peachtree City, died July 20, 2001. He was born May 25, 1954 in St. Louis, Mo. A funeral mass was at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, with the Rev. Bill Hampton and the Rev. Father Sylvester Nwaogu, Celebrant. Interment was at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Survivors include his wife, Anne Kentch, Peachtree City; sons, Brian Kentch, Champagne, Ill, Ian Kentch and Matthew Kentch, both of Peachtree City, a daughter, Erin Kentch, East Carondelet, Ill.; brothers, Eugene Kentch Jr. and Timothy Kentch, both of Cahokia, Ill; and sisters, Kathleen McLaurin and Eileen McLaurin, both of Stedman, N. C. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
