Callie Langley Stovall

Callie Langley Stovall, 91, College Park, died Nov. 15, 2000. She was born Aug. 18, 1909 in Fulton County.
Services were at the Carmichael-Hemperley Chapel, East Point with minister Walter Huff officiating. Interment was at College Park Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Lamar and Barbara Stovall, Senoia; a daughter, Rilla Terry, College Park; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Patricial Ruth Mark

Patricia Ruth Mark, 68, Union City, died Nov. 20, 2000. She was born July 1, 1932 in Fulton County.
Memorial services were at St. John’s Episcopal Church, College Park with the Rev. James H. Pritchett officiating.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Kevin Hornsby, Canton; daughters Amy Kathleen Aboul-Khair, Sharpsburg, and Karen Helen Poindexter, Griffin; mother Irma Harriet Muse, Union City; a brother, William N. Eidson Jr., Dunwoody; a sister, Sue E. Muse, Fayetteville; and grandchildren.

Phil Cornell

Phil Cornell, 64, Riverdale, died Nov. 23, 2000. He was born March 18, 1936 in New York.
Graveside services were at the Fairburn City Cemetery with minister Clay Henry officiating
Survivors include his wife, Nancy J. Cornell, Riverdale; daughters Chris and Michael McGinnis, Newnan, and Kim and Tommy Easter, Cartersville; and five grandchildren.
Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn was in charge.

Linie A. Durrough

Linnie A. Durrough, 77, Newnan, died Nov. 23, 2000. He was born Feb. 23, 1923 in Carroll County, Ga. He had served in the United States Army in Korea and was retired from Bibb Company.
Services were at the Sargent Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Durrough officiating. Interment was at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Durrough, Newnan; a daughter, Kimberly Peacock; brothers Charles Durrough and Lindy Durrough, both of Newnan, Clyde Durrough, Carrollton and Milford Durrough, Sargent; a sister, Ruby Horsley, Grantville; and grandchildren Dalene Coftley and Kendrick Williams, both of Sargent.

Ralph Smith

Ralph Smith, Raymond, Ga. died Nov. 27, 2000. He was an excellent tomato farmer and sold tomatoes at Raymond Lake for years.
Services will be at Fort Meade, Fla. at a later date.
Survivors include a nephew, Carl E. Smith, Turin.

Harvey “Smokey”

Harvey “Smokey” Walthall, 94, Newnan, died Nov. 29, 2000. He was born Feb. 26, 1906 in Coweta County, Ga. He had served in World War II in the South Pacific in the Army 491 Quartermaster Corps and had been a bookkeeper for Johnson Hardware for 29 years.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Harry H. Barrow officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include nieces Martha Davis Weatherman and Nancy Davis Griffin, both of Marietta, Ga., Evelyn Davis Carpenter, Wilmington, N.C., and Fredolyn Grimes Stitt, Lilburn; and great-nephews, Mark McClure, Tucker, Ga., and Scott McClure, Social Circle, Ga.
Memorial donations may be made to Newnan Presbyterian Church, 38 Greenville, St., Newnan 30263.

Alden Farelly Hays

Alden Farelly Hays, 76, Newnan, died Nov. 29, 2000. He was born Jan. 6, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 and attained the rank of grade chief petty officer aboard the Battleship Mississippi. Soon after the Battle of Pearl Harbor the Mississippi steamed from Iceland to Pearl Harbor to assist other naval vessels. In 1950 he received an honorable discharge and relocated to Atlanta, where he worked in residential construction with Jerry Ballard Homes, retiring in 1989. He was an active Mason and a member of the Grand Lodge of Georgia.
An avid lover of roses, he volunteered his time at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with interment at Arlington Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Fay Coleman Hays, Newnan; sons Jay Hays, Cleveland, Ohio, James Hays, Acworth, and Tom Oden, Conyers; daughters Robin Garner and Muriel Diguette, both of Atlanta, and Linda Kidney, Greenville, S.C., and Rebecca Burnett, Norcross, Jennifer Oden and Lesley Lewey, both of Dunwoody; a sister, Elizabeth Schoenfeld, Chico, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Gardens at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
