James Anthony “Tony” Wallace

James Anthony “Tony” Wallace, 47, Sharpsburg, died Oct. 2, 2000. He was born May 4, 1953 in Fulton County, Ga. He had worked as a truck driver.
Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Franklin Treadwell officiating. Interment was at Turin, Ga. Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include brothers Mike Hulsey, LaGrange, and Steve Wallace, Newnan; and sisters Sandra Anderson, Pine Mountain, Ga., and Angela Rudeseal, Tallapoosa, Ga.
Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge of the arrangements.

John Thomas Coutee

John Thomas Coutee, 73, Moreland, died Oct. 3, 2000. He was born Feb. 20, 1927 in Montrose, La. and was one of eight children. He was retired from the United States Army, having served in Germany, Japan and South Korea. His wife, whom he met at the Pentagon and married in 1951, was the sister of Lewis Grizzard’s mother.
Services were at McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Eley officiating. Interment was at Southview Cemetery, with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Una Mae Coutee, Moreland, Ga.; brothers Elbert Coutee, Plain Dealing, La., and Ellis Coutee, Baton Rouge, La.; sisters Mary Alice Bordelon and Willie Ruth Martin, both of Alexandria, La., and Leoma DeLacerda, Columbus, Ga.

Sharon Carol Potts

Sharon Carol Potts, 54, Sharpsburg, died Oct. 4, 2000. She was born Aug. 8, 1946 in Scarboro, W. Va., the daughter of Luster and Lorene Williams Jones. She worked as a film handler and photo finisher.
Graveside services were at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Rollin Ayers officiating.
Survivors include a daughter, Legina Potts, Sharpsburg; a grandson, Matthew Potts, Sharpsburg; and a granddaughter, Lorene Potts, Sharpsburg; father Luster Jones, Sharpsburg; a brother, J. L. Jones, Salisbury, N.C.; and sisters Kay Jones and Barbara Lynch, both of Sharpsburg.
Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel was in charge.

Berrian Andrew Hobby

Berrian Andrew Hobby, 77, Sharpsburg, died Oct. 8, 2000. He was born Jan. 6, 1923 in Gordy, Ga., the son of the late Joseph A. and Ruby Callaway Hobby. He had been a supervisor of Southern Bell for 36 years. He had served in the United States Air Forces 64th fighter wing in Italy, German and France.
He was one of six men who founded the Coweta County Volunteer Fire Department and served for 17 years on the Fire Commission Board.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. L. O. Thompson officiating. Interment was at White Oak Baptist Cemetery, Senoia.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Bishop Hobby, Sharpsburg, whom he married Jan. 6, 1942; mother-in-law Lois Bishop, Atlanta; sons Barrie A. Hobby, Joedy A. Hobby, Judge C. Hobby, Julian S. Hobby, Martin G. Hobby and Mitchell Hobby, all of whom live in Coweta County; and a sister, Wanda Walters, New Jersey.
There are 15 grandchildren.

Robin Clarke

Robin Clarke, 37, Sharpsburg, died Oct. 7, 2000. She was born June 11, 1963 in Glendale, Calif. She was preceded in death by grandparents Phil and Sylvia Ray and Robert Whitney Sr.
Services were at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Peachtree City, with the Rev. John Weber officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Clarke, Sharpsburg; a son, Patrick Blair Clarke, Sharpsburg; father John Whitney, Marietta, mother, Mary Whitney, Peachtree City; grandmother Frances Moore, Marietta; and a brother, Steven Michael Whitney, Statesboro.
Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.

Ruby Eason

Ruby Eason, 68, Newnan, died Oct. 9, 2000. She was born Sept. 20, 1932 in Newnan. She had been the owner/operator of a grocery store.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, with the Rev. Searcy Jackson officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, William W. Eason, Newnan; mother Annie Carroll Cochran, Newnan; a son, Robby Eason, Newnan; daughters Kathy and Stephen Barnett, Newnan, Judy Bearden, Villa Rica, Ga., and Lori and Richard Milton, Panama City, Fla; brothers Barry and Joan Cochran, Bobby and Jackie Cochran and Jim and Vicki Cochran, all of Newnan; and sisters Louise Davis and Barbara and George Robards, all of Newnan.
There are 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Edna Whitlock Rooks

Edna Whitlock Rooks, 81, Newnan, died Oct. 10, 2000. She was born Feb. 22, 1919 in Fayette County, the daughter of Eddie D. and Winnie Williams Whitlock. She was a retired R.N.
Graveside services were at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan, with the Rev. Dr. Gene Tyre officiating.
Survivors include brothers Dennis Whitlock, Wendell Whitlock and Buford Whitlock, all of Newnan; and sisters Myrtle W. Jackson and Adell W. Miller, both of Newnan.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Newnan Building Fund.

Diane Faye Little

Diane Faye Little, 45, Newnan, died Oct. 10, 2000. She was born Sept. 8, 1955 in Dade County, Fla., the daughter of John and Marion Lawrence. She had lived in Newnan for 16 years. She was known as “Miss Diane” to those who worked with her at First Baptist Day Care, where she taught the 3-year-old class. She attended Sonrise Baptist Church at White Oak.
A private memorial service is planned.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Little, Newnan, to whom she had been married for 25 years; a daughter, Channa and Robbie Long, Newnan; a brother, Gary Lawrence, Miami, Fla.; and a sister, Patty Jones, Newnan.
