Mittie Chance

Mittie Chance, 79, Fayetteville, died June 1, 2000. She was born Nov. 8, 1920 in Fulton Co., Ga.
Services were held at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Bobo officiating. Interment was at College Park Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Jim and Pat Chance, Marietta; a daughter, Judy Hilliard, Alpharetta; grandchildren, Cory Gabrels, David Hudson, Missy Healy, Heather Johnson and Tripp Chance; and sisters, Ruth Taylor, Peachtree City, Hilda Pace, Sharpsburg, and Becky Jackson, Tyrone. There are six great-grandchildren.
Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge of the arrangements.

James Trowell

James Virgil Trowell, 52, Sharpsburg, died June 3, 2000. He was born April 20, 1948 in Alma, Ga.
Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Peachtree City with Minister Ken Adams officiating. Interment was at Pine Lawn Cemetery, Alma, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Trowell; a son, Rodney Trowell, Jonesboro; daughters, Mandy Trowell, Jonesboro and Bonnie Cahoon, Stockbridge; stepdaughters, Lori Johnson, Baxley and Lisa Laqua, Waycross; a granddaughter, Crissy Johnson, Baxley; a brother, Norman Trowell, Hazelhurst; and sisters, Faye Stone, Waycross and Mildred Newham, Hazelhurst.
Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Hanson

Mary Dorine Hanson, 90, Newnan, died June 4, 2000. She was born May 2, 1910 in Carroll County Ga., the daughter of John and Minnie Patterson Morrow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Delma Hanson; a son, Delma A. Hanson; a brother, Tommy Morrow; a granddaughter, Emily Davis Hightower; and a great-grandson, Andrew Christian Hanson.
Services were held at the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Howard and the Rev. Danny Wilson, officiating. Interment was at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Banning Community, Carroll County, Ga.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Hanson and Joe Davis, Macon, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Betty Hanson, Newnan; grandchildren, Mike and Pam Brooks, Judy and Lee Combs and Roy and Joan Hanson, all of Newnan, Joel Davis, Atlanta, and Kevin Davis, Macon; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Cecelia Brooks, Patrick and Carrie Brooks, Jarred Combs, Justus Combs, Lee Combs, Caitlyn Davis, Chris Davis, Jake Davis, Eric Hanson, Maribeth Hanson, and Ryan and Hope Henry; and great-great-grandchildren, Carolyn Brooks, Hunter Henry, Madison Brooks, Taylor Lower, Tiffany Reese, and Randy and Jenny Lower.

Ralph Ashley

Ralph Ashley, 83, Newnan, died June 4, 2000. He was born Nov. 14, 1916 in Cherokee County, Ala. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Ashley. He was a retired carpenter.
Services were held at the McKoon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Dennis officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan;
Survivors include a son, Robert A. Ashley, Fayetteville, Ga.; and a daughter, Nell Floyd, Newnan; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Harry Allison

Harry Allison, 82, Newnan, died June 4, 2000. He was born April 26, 1918 in Summerville, Ga., the son of John and Julie Jones Allison. He retired from the United States Army after two tours in Korea and had been a heating and air conditioning installation instructor.
Services were held at the Hillcrest Chapel with Brother Bobby Brown officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan, with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Allison, East Newnan; children, Jack L. Boyd, Sr., Franklin and Shirley Powell, Newnan; a brother, Ralph Allison, Phenix City, Ala.; a sister, Jessie Mathis, Birmingham, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Martin and Hightower, Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge of the arrangements.

Lemual Storey

Lemual Harold Storey,. 87, Lineville, Ala., formerly of Newnan, died June 5, 2000. He was born Feb. 11, 1913 in Coweta County, Ga., the son of C. E. and Lonnie Mae Lye Storey. He was retired as a store operator.
Graveside services were held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan, with the Rev. Harry Holloman officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Frances Storey, Lineville, Ala.; a son, Charles T. “Tom” Storey, Wedowee, Ala.; a daughter, Joan Storey Warick, Roswell, Ga.; and brothers, Joe Storey, Palmetto, Ga. and Thompson Storey, Newnan.
There are six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
