Pauline Harvey

Pauline Harvey, 89, Senoia, died April 16, 2000. She was born Aug. 26, 1910 in Washington County, Ga. In 1964 she was presented the Flying Orchid by Delta Air Lines for her airline bookings. She also served as an executive secretary at the Hilton Inn, Hartsfield International Airport and was named as secretary of the year by Hilton Hotels.
Graveside services were at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta, with the Rev. Henry Hulgan officiating.
Survivors include her son, Thomas A. Gray, Senoia; a brother, William C. Brumbeloe, Wildwood, Fla.; a sister, Maydell Everheart, Chattanooga; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A. C. Hemperley & Sons Funeral Home, East Point, was in charge of the arrangements.

Billie Faye Quick

Billie Faye Quick, 67, Senoia, died April 25, 2000. She was born Oct. 22, 1932 in LaGrange and had made her home in Senoia for the past 33 years.
Graveside services were at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange with the Rev. Jimmie L. Willis officiating.
Survivors include her husband, Paul L. Quick, Senoia; stepsons Emory Quick and Tommy Quick, both of Senoia, and Billy Quick, Peachtree City; stepdaughters Charlotte McIntyre, Gainesville, and Lucy Neal and Donna Parrish, both of Senoia; her mother, Gladys Watson, Grantville; a brother, Sonny Watson, Hogansville; sisters Margaret Potts, Grantville and Cheryl Beckom, Newnan; a grandson, Richy Potts, Grantville; 17 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

Lucile McCoy Daniel

Lucile McCoy Daniel, 79, Lone Oak Community, Meriwether County, died April 26, 2000. She was born Nov. 8, 1920 in Meriwether County, the daughter of John Jackson and Elizabeth Cook McCoy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Daniel. She was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County and a member of the Union Baptist Church.
Services were at the Union Baptist Church, St. Marks Community, Meriwether County, with the Rev. Bill Deakins and the Rev. Bob Harris officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery.
Survivors include grandsons Brian Ferrell and Eddie and Ellen Ferrell, all of Lone Oak, and Justin Ferrell, Manchester; a great-granddaughter, Christine Ferrell, Lone Oak; brothers Wilber McCoy, Greenville, and Nelson McCoy, Luthersville; sisters, Doris Garner, Riverdale, Christine Smith, Moreland, Nellie Rowe, Luthersville, and Eleanor Garner and Gwendolyn Gradolph, both of Fayetteville.

Fredrick Jackson

Fredrick Jackson, 71, Newnan, died April 26, 2000. He was born Dec. 29, 1928 in Washington, D.C., the son of Fred and Beulah Jackson. He received a degree in architecture and engineering from Howard University. He served as a professor at both Howard University and the University of the District of Columbia.
In 1975 he and a partner started Jackson and Tull Chartered Engineers, which became one of the largest minority-owned engineering companies in the United States.
Retiring to Newnan in 1990, he started another engineering company, The Jackson Group Charter Engineers, serving as president and CIO until his death.
He founded the West Georgia 100 Black Men.
Services were at the St. George Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo P. Herbert officiating. Interment was at East View Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include his wife, Melvinor “Mell” Jackson, Newnan; children Pamela and John Clark, Marietta, Ga., Noel Jackson, Atlanta, Monroe Williamson III, St. Louis, Mo., Hillary Kent and Joy Jackson and Valencia Ballard, all of Maryland. Grandchildren include Changa Musak, Calif., Jahana Phillips, Elon Jackson, Nei Jackson and Jordon A. Clark, all of Georgia. There are eight brothers and sisters.
McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Mary Roberts Windom

Mary Roberts Windom, 82, Grantville, died April 25, 2000. She was born March 8, 1918 in Jacksonville, Ala., the daughter of Edward Lewis and Molly Odom Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Windom. She had lived in Grantville for 69 years, was retired from West Point Pepperell Mfg. in Grantville, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grantville.
Services were at the Claude A. McKibben Chapel, Hogansville, with the Rev. Darris Baker and the Rev. Paul Stitcher officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy and Jean Windom, Newnan; a sister, Catherine Plant, Grantville; grandchildren Allen and Rena Windom, Kay and Charles Smith, all of Newnan, and Jerrie and Steve Norsworthy, Sharpsburg; and great-grandchildren Jodie Addison, Charlsie Smith, Will Smith, Josh Windom, Justin Norsworthy and Trevor Norsworthy.

John S. Ball

John S. Ball, 84, Senoia, died April 27, 2000. He was born April 8, 1916 in West Virginia. He was a retired manufacturing manager and a member of the Newnan First Baptist Church.
Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. O. Eugene Tyre officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Ball, Newnan; a nephew and a great-niece.
Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.

Dewey Turner

Dewey Turner, 70, Haralson, died April 27, 2000. He was born Oct. 17, 1929 in Gay, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father, Vivian Farron “Hawkeye” Turner, and was a retired lawnmower repairman.
Services were at the Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church with Brother Billy Ball and Brother Ken Hamilton officiating. Interment was at Haralson Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Turner, Haralson; his mother, Ethel Lee Turner, Haralson; children Elaine Stamps, Moreland, Jean Eady, Haralson, Vickie Kelley, Albany, Andy Turner and Tommy Turner, both of Newnan, and Darlene Couch, Sharpsburg; a brother, B. L. Turner, Haralson; sisters Joyce Wilson, Locust Grove, and Shirley Karr, Morrow. There are 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.

Helen Bennett Johnson

Helen Bennett Johnson, 79, Fayetteville, died April 29, 2000. She was born Sept. 10, 1920 in Cobb County, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Johnson.
Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Ellis, the Rev. Glenn Stringham, the Rev. Gene Tyre and the Rev. Darwin Caldwell officiating. Interment was at Mt. Pisgah Church Cemetery, Austell, Cobb County.
Survivors include a son, Larry and Kathy Johnson, Jonesboro; a daughter, Carol and Larry Wortham, Newnan; grandchildren Lauren Wortham, Meredith Wortham, Shawn Massengale and Kim Massengale; and a sister, Frances B. McFerrin, Marietta.
