Mildred Ruth Smith

Mildred Ruth Smith, 77, Union City, died Jan. 6, 2000. She was born July 18, 1922 in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Smith Sr.
Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Robert Whitmire officiating. Interment was at Forest Hill Memorial Gardens, Forest Park.
Survivors include a son, Chris and Betty Smith, Sharpsburg, Ga.; a daughter, Pat and Bob Milner, Lithia Springs, Ga.; a brother, Jerry and Sammie Anderson, College Park, Ga; and a sister, Deloris and Gene Childress, Decatur, Ga.
There are five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren

Willie Bruce Emory

Willie Bruce Emory, 58, Sharpsburg, died Jan. 10, 2000. He was born Sept. 16, 1941 in Heard County, Ga., the son of Willie and Ida Lou Hopson Emory. He had been a gravel truck driver for Vulcan Materials.
Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Carl Calhoun officiating. Interment was at the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Raymond, Ga.
Survivors include a son, Willie Bruce Emory, Newnan; stepchildren Donna Ward, Patricia Ayers, Brandi Parker and Trevor Parker, all of Newnan, Debbie Harless and Nancy Parker, both of Sharpsburg, and Joey Parker, Atlanta; a brother, Bobby Emory, Newnan; and sisters Faye Hendley, Sharpsburg, Kate Shoemake, Ohio, Zelma Clark, Conyers, Shirley Jett, Florida, and Linda Selmer, Douglasville.
There are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Shirley Faye Allred

Shirley Faye Allred, 63, Sharpsburg, died Jan. 12, 2000. She was born Nov. 13, 1936 in Jamestown, Tenn., the daughter of Holly and Ruby Delk Tipton.
Services were at the Jennings Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, Tenn. with interment at Waters Family Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn Allred, Sharpsburg; a son, Jeff Allred, Sharpsburg; daughters Teresa Thompson, Holland, Mich., and Tina Rhodes, Farmington Hills, Mich.; a brother, Pete Tipson, Jamestown, Tenn; and sisters Hilda McMullin, Salt Lake City, Utah, Rita Duncan, Wartsburg, Tenn., and Sharon Sherrill, Hillsdale, Mich.
There are four grandchildren.

Joe Nelson Burnham

Joe Nelson Burnham, 81, Newnan, died Jan. 13, 2000. He was born Dec. 30, 1918 in Newnan, Ga. He was retired from the textile industry.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bob Atkins and the Rev. Harry White officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Burnham; a son, Robert and Floye Burnham; a daughter, Brenda B. Clark; brothers Hamp Burnham and Harold Burnham; sisters Margret Majors and Frances May; grandchildren Beth Burnham, Rob Burnham, Brooke and Jason Dailey; and great-grandchildren Zach Dailey and Ashley Dailey, all of Newnan.

Evelyn Owens Eidson

Evelyn Owens Eidson, 90, Fayetteville, died Jan. 9, 2000. She was born Oct. 1, 1909 in Mountville, Troup County, Ga. She was graduated from Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing in 1930 and married G. C. Eidson, a teacher in the Atlanta School System, the same year. She was a private duty nurse until her retirement from Piedmont Hospital in 1970. She was a former resident of Atlanta and Jonesboro prior to moving to Fayetteville.
Services were at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Dr. Sam Matthews officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.
Survivors include her husband, G. C. Eidson, Fayetteville; sons Djo S. and Laura Eidson, Fayetteville; and Thomas C. and Joy Eidson, Senoia; a daughter, Lynne Eidson, Forest Park; grandchildren Bill Eidson and Susan and David Hambrick, all of Birmingham, Ala., Mark Eidson, Fayetteville, Wendy and Todd Howell, Warner Robbins, Ga., Christy and Johnny Stewart, Moreland and Alicia Gaff, Forest Park, Ga.; great-granddaughters Jessica and Karli Eidson and Katy and Kelly Hambrick, all of Birmingham, Ala. and Kristie and Sydney Eidson, Opelika, Ala.; brothers Tom and Sue Owens, Greensboro, N.C. and Bill and Flo Owens, LaGrange, Ga.; and a sister, Isobel Morton, Atlanta.

Elizabeth Cooper Minix

Elizabeth Cooper Minix, 71, Newnan, died Jan. 16, 2000. She was born Jan. 23, 1928 in Coweta County, Ga., the daughter of George N. and Clyde Ward Cooper. She was retired from Kesslers Department Store and had been a homemaker.
Services were at the Rock Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. David Ramey officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Steve and Sarah Minix, Newnan; a daughter, Debbie and Tim Stitcher, Newnan; brothers Jack and Sarah Ann Cooper, Newnan, and Frank and Mary Cooper, Elbar, Ala.; sisters-in-law Martha Smith and Sylvia Thomas, both of Newnan; four grandchildren and one grand daughter-in-law.

Mary Jo Kimble

Mary Jo Kimble, 71, Newnan, died Jan. 17, 2000. She was born May 28, 1928 in Coweta County, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Roy and Elberta Mae Hudson Dingler Sr., and siblings Tim Dingler, Kenneth Dingler, Marvin Dingler, Wayne Dingler, Juanita Dingler and Eva Dingler Smith.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Fred White officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include her former husband, Bartow Kimble, Newnan; a son, Barry and Elizabeth Kimble, Franklin, Ga.; daughters Joyce and Melvin Jackson, Franklin and Joan Kimble, Oak Ridge, Tenn; and brothers Clifford E. “Chunk” and Louise Dingler and William Roy and Margaret Dingler, all of Newnan.
There are seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
