Victoria Fields

Victoria Fields, 13, Newnan, died Dec. 4, 1999. She was born April 22, 1986 in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a student at Arnall Middle School and a member of the St. George Catholic Church.
A memorial funeral mass will be Jan. 15, 2000 at St. George Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo Herbert officiating.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Victoria Fields’ Memorial Fund, c/o The Federal Employees’ Credit Union, P.O. Box 16659 West Palm Beach, Fla. 33416.

Debra “Debi” Groninger Sterling

Debra “Debi” Groninger Sterling, 39, Cumming, formerly of College Park and Fayetteville, died Dec. 31, 1999. She was born Sept. 24, 1960 in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Robin Groninger.
Services were at the Ingram Funeral Home chapel, Cumming, with the Rev. Ike Reighard officiating. Interment was at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens, Cumming.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Sterling, Cumming; children Ashley Sterling and Kendall Sterling, both of Cumming; mother and stepfather, Thelma and Kenneth Waller, Newnan; brothers Ronald and Jane Groninger, Shingletown, Calif. and Robert and Debbie Groninger, Sharpsburg, Ga.; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Sue Sterling, Cumming.
Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, was in charge.

Tommy Carl Gunnells

Tommy Carl Gunnells, 48, Newnan, died Jan. 3, 2000. He was born Oct. 6, 1951 in Carroll County, Ga., the son of Leonard and Nora Hendrix Gunnells. He had served in the United States Marines and worked at the K-Mart warehouse.
Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Webb officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Gunnells, Newnan; a daughter, Michelle Rampley, Carrollton; a brother, David Gunnells, Carrollton; sisters Bobbie Joe Reese, Sargent and Louise Reese, Franklin; and grandchildren Dustin Rampley and Bridget West, both of Carrollton.
Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.

Donald Richard Chesser

Donald Richard Chesser, 68, Newnan, died Jan. 4, 2000. He was born Jan. 10, 1931 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Arnold and Laura Mae Chesser. He was retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service and retired from the James Rivers/Ft. James Company. He was a member of the VFW.
Services were at the Hillcrest Chapel with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Ward, Newnan; a brother, Allen Chesser, Indiana; and a sister, Lois Jeager, Wheeling W. Va. There are two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.

Kathleen Virginia Mote

Kathleen Virginia Mote, 81, Newnan, died Jan. 4, 2000. She was born March 31, 1918. She was retired from the Bonnell Company.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bob Daugherty officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include sons Bobby Mote, Fayetteville, Charles Mote, Newnan, and Ronnie Mote, Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Sarah Lee Crider, Carrollton; a brother, Raymond Williamson, Newnan; and sisters Annie Mae Estep, Newnan and Inez Powers, Hogansville. There are 14 grandchildren.

Sybil Roselle Freeman

Sybil Roselle Freeman, 76, Newnan, died Jan. 5, 2000. She was born Jan. 12, 1923 in Georgia. She was retired from the Bonnell Company.
Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan.
Survivors include daughters Mary Robertson, North Lauderdale, Fla., and Elaine Wilson, Newnan; brothers Billy Hogan, Newnan, Dudley Hogan, Fairburn, Eddie Hogan, Perrine, Fla., and Marvin Hogan, Grantville; a sister, Mary Alice Kee, Grantville; and sons-in-law George Robertson, North Lauderdale, Fla., and Bobby Wilson, Newnan.

Jolene E. Townley

Jolene E. Townley, 56, Sharpsburg, died Jan. 7, 2000. She was born Nov. 8, 1943 in Los Angeles County, Calif.
Services were at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home chapel with interment at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Townley, Sharpsburg; mother and stepfather, Fran and John Johnson, Plant City, Fla.; and a brother, Rick Lindsey, Marietta.

Helen Morland Engelman

Helen Morland Engelman, 86, Sharpsburg, died Jan. 7, 2000. She was born Dec. 2, 1913 in Birmingham, Ala. She had retired from the Centers for Disease Control as a lab technician. She had served in the United States Marines.
Services were at the Peachtree City Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include daughters Ruth Jones, Austin, Texas, and Marian E. Sims, Sharpsburg. There are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
