Chuck and Debbie Clanton of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Sue Clanton, to Jonathan Robert Hasel, son of Steve and Cheryl Hasel of Inverness, Fla. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Wayne and Patsy Rader of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Bill and Gladys Clanton, also of Panama City Beach. A high school graduate of Fayette Christian in Fayetteville, she received her bachelor’s degree in music and church music in 2005 from Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland, Ga., and her master’s degree in music therapy in 2007 from Florida State University. She currently is a music therapist for Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Fla. The groom-elect is the grandson of Hilda Palmer of Ocala, Fla.and John and Arlena Hasel of Clermont, Fla. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in family and child sciences, social work, in 2006. He will receive his master’s degree in human services in 2010 from Liberty University. He is a campus and community ministries care case manager with the Florida Baptist Children’s Home in Tallahassee, Fla. The wedding will be June 12, 2010 at Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Fla. The couple will reside in Tallahassee.
