Frances Maloy Nordlund, 94, Peachtree City, died Feb. 8, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. and Nora Bowdon Upchurch, husbands, W. T. Maloy, L. D. Rosser, and Howard Nordlund, and her great-great-grandchild, Ryane Taylor Rush. She was retired from Sears Roebuck with 28 years of service as a retail collection supervisor. She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Praise Sunday School class. She was a 28 plus year survivor of breast cancer and a longtime volunteer with the Reach to Recovery Program through the American Cancer Society. In honor of her efforts to the Breast Cancer Survivor Network of Fayette County, its library was named for her. Services were at the Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Cross and the Rev. Dr. Tom Rush officiating. Interment was at the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, McDonough, Ga. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Maloy and Ed Rush, Peachtree City; grandchildren, Tom and Victoria Rush, Monroe, Terri and Dave Allison, Peachtree City, and David Rush, Fayetteville; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, A. J. Upchurch Jr., McDonough; and sisters, Janie McGarity, and Faye Carmichael, both of McDonough. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. login to post comments |
