Dr. and Mrs. James Compton Sams of Fayetteville announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Margaret Marie Sams, to Reid Tildon Hankley, son of Arthur Tildon Hankley of Nellysford, Va. and Ms. Jane Hines Hankley of Thomasville. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ferrol Aubrey Sams Jr. of Fayetteville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kontz Stuart Varn of Waycross. She is a 2002 graduate of Fayette County High School in Fayetteville and a 2006 graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., where she graduated cum laude earning a bachelor of science degree in biology. She is currently a senior student at The School of Veterinary Medicine at The University of Georgia and will graduate in May of 2010 with a doctorate in veterinary medicine. The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Hankley of Mechanicsville, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ernest Hines of Lake City, Fla. He is a 1995 graduate of Lee-Davis High School in Mechanicsville, Va. and attended Florida State University. He is currently employed by Sunny Hill Plantation in Tallahassee, Fla. The wedding will be Saturday, June 5, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. A reception will follow at the home of the bride.
