Wadsworth & Friends Concert set for March 6Thu, 01/14/2010 - 4:33pm
By: The Citizen
The Newnan Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) has announced the date of the 18th Annual Wadsworth & Friends Concert set for Saturday, March 6 at 7:30 pm at Newnan’s Wadsworth Auditorium. The planned concert will be the 18th concert hosted by native son Charles Wadsworth who was first featured here in 1993 and, before and since, gained worldwide acclaim for his talents and hosting skills. Last year’s virtual sellout Wadsworth & Friends Concert celebrated the home town piano artist’s 80th birthday at which he announced his retirement from the international circuit of concerts and programs at which he has been featured during his long and much heralded career. “However”, said Wadsworth, “and providentially speaking, I will return to Newnan and this stage for as long as I’m still able to present a special program and spectacular artists to this most special and wonderful audience.” NCAC Wadsworth Concert Chairman John Thrasher said, “We’re delighted that Charles, despite his very limited concert schedule, has once again put Newnan at the top of his list and will be bringing four highly acclaimed musicians to the auditorium stage. This will be the 18th annual concert and it’s safe to say that the artists he’ll be bringing have never been, or never will be, surpassed on the Wadsworth Auditorium stage. The talent lineup is really that great. It’s going to be a spectacular event.” Tickets for the concert will be available, effective February 5th at Scott’s Book Store on the Courthouse Square, Morgans Jewelers at Ashley Park, and Bank of Coweta at Thomas Crossroads and are budget priced at $20. for adults and $15. for students and seniors. login to post comments |
