Qualifying slim for Tyone CouncilFri, 09/04/2009 - 3:24pm
By: Ben Nelms
For a town that has become famous as a political hot-bed, the qualifying process for the two council seats on the November ballot has become a relatively lonely one. As of press time at noon Friday only one challenger had qualified. The challenger for the Post 3 seat held by Grace Caldwell is former Planning Commission member Ken Matthews. On his disclosure form the 49 year-old Matthews indicated he is a disabled veteran that has lived in Tyrone for seven years. And as of press time there was no opposition for Post 4 Councilwoman Gloria Furr. login to post comments |
