By F.C. Foodie It seems like if you threw a rock in this county, you’d hit a Mexican restaurant. Of course, if you did throw a rock and hit a Mexican restaurant, you’d be arrested and likely charged with a hate crime, so please, no rock throwing. The point is there are a lot of restaurants in the area that offer Mexican cuisine and some are better than others. I know it’s a franchise and I know it isn’t what many would argue as true Mexican cuisine, but the best burritos are at Moe’s. Argue with me all you like, it’s true. The burritos are huge, made exactly the way you want, and they come with free chips and salsa. You can either eat them at Moe’s and listen to a soundtrack entirely made up of dead artists (it’s true) or you can bring them home. But sometimes, you want the atmosphere of a real Mexican restaurant and some more authentic dishes. Here is my rotation. 2. La Hacienda - This is the closest Mexican restaurant to The Citizen’s offices. They offer good food, some great specials and friendly service. I am very fond of the tacos at La Hacienda and I have co-workers that swear by the Chicken Chimichanga. The one in Peachtree City makes great guacamole too. 3. El Reposo - I haven’t been to the converted Buckhead Brewery location yet, but I recently had lunch at the one across from the hospital and it was very good. The fajita was delicious and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. 4. El Ranchero - It doesn’t matter which one. I have had a lot of different items on the menu, but right now, I could go for a big plate of their nachos with a queso dip. 5. Casa Vieja - I know I’m not being a good foodie here, but they have a dish that comes with steak, bacon, cheese, and onions, that is just awesome. I don’t remember the name of it, but just look around on the menu and you’ll find it. I don’t get down that way too often, but when I do, I need to stop in and enjoy that dish. login to post comments |
